Before you run any hash in it just check the ‘final dry’ temp or whatever they call it can go to like 30-35f otherwise you need to flash the firmware, not a big deal but just letting you know
On the new 6.0 firmware you need to turn the tray warmer temps to 0° in the top right there is a “more options” setting. One might think under the tray warmer settings that 35° means it won’t go above or below 35° but on this new firmware it’ll heat the trays while in a negative temp to get up to 35° which you definitely don’t want. The machine under the 6.x.x firmware will still be able to bring the internal temp back to 35° without flash heating the trays or turning on the tray heaters at all. But there is no way to select a “disable tray heating” in the 6.x.x firmware. Instead you can just set the tray heater temps to 0° and it won’t kick on
Igloo hash labs are the next big thing
Madd Fruit (Papaya Berry Runtz x Moroccan Peaches)
before and after end of cold cure. Tastes like the peaches that’s floating around everywhere but with a strong papaya mixed in great cultivar.
On my home unit running version 6.0, it will only go as low as 50, so after the cycle it tries to raise shelf temp to 50. I kept an eye on it and caught it right as it finished and stopped to cycle to prevent it from raising tray temps. Some of the hash seemed like it wasn’t completely done, I went to collect one tray and a thick area still seemed kind of moist. It was a quick cycle, took maybe 16 hours. Most of the trays looked done tho
Question now is, what’s the best way to collect it? I don’t have a cold room, should I just load the hash straight from the trays into press bags? I tried putting some in a room temp jar and it immediately waxed up and stuck to the jar
These are full spec 40-149u. I only had about 2000g of fresh frozen and maybe 400g cured Rosetta stone xx

I got you, I can drop a link to an older firmware if you want. It’ll go down past 30 if you want it to.
I’ll try to find a video detailing how to load it. Harvest Right I think had the other few deleted.
She’s not super technical about it, but if you have issues let me know because the only other issue you’d run into is formatting the stick. Don’t get the updates off of their site - they neuter the fuck out of the new ones so you gotta buy the fancy machines for hash.
You’re usually looking at 28+ hrs of run time total between freezing and final dry. Mine usually hits at 32 hrs but i’ve seen less be efficient still.
Ok this can be tricky. If you have a chest freezer or a larger freezer, ezpz. Put your hash from the freeze dryer straight into the freezer. Have a cold cookie sheet covered with parchment waiting for you with a metal freezing cold strainer. Dump the hash into the strainer and work it through to find if you have any frozen chunks, put the frozen chunks to the side in it’s own jar then take the sifted hash and dump it in it’s own freezing cold ball jar until you’re ready to pack bags. I enjoy using stainless steel funnels since they too can get super cold while in a freezer and won’t clump up from body heat
Although the guys at hashtek say you will get degredation after 16 hours of drying. These harvestright units don’t seem to fully dry material till about 20-24 hours. And yes if it won’t let you go below 50°. Set the timer for 25 hours, set a timer on your phone. Go pull it at 24 hours before the tray heater kicks on. But everything substitute provided above will bypass the block on the tray warmer parameters and bypass the limitations on the new firmware
It goes by pressure not time
I would guess with a new pump and that small of a tray volume that his trays would be done by 24 hours. Not a precise guess, but whenever I’m using a new pump on a medium HR it’s done by 22-24 hours. With a smaller unit using the same premier pump brand new I’d guess the same. But yes it’s all about mtor and however long it takes to reach pressure and hold to be able to properly dry.
On the hashtek site, they mention using a vacuum oven w/cold trap if you dont have a freezer dryer. Anyone use this tek? Im tired of air drying for 7 days. I can pick up a 1.9cu’ BVV oven for pretty cheap. Then source a vacuum pump and cold trap.
Im also trying to figure out why some strains press awesome, while others are darker and more greasy.
Tbh. Probably not cold enough.
This might be one of those scenarios where a purge pot is easier to manage.
try pre freezing the purge pot, hash etc. still use a cold trap. Pull vac and let it passively come up in temp. Or use a heat mat underneath set below room temp.
Check out this dudes profile on Reddit and lmk what you think, he posts some amazing looking flower rosin
https://www.reddit.com/u/Competitive-Pass2035/s/t6kjCbLxQv
https://www.reddit.com/r/Craftmarijuana/s/yt2PVPthyF
Seems he has been making rosin for a while, I asked him why he only makes flower rosin these days, basically said it’s less hassle, not everything washes but everything presses well. Only presses freshly dried flower, pressing as soon as it gets down to 60-70% rh.
Claims he gets better flavor and effects because he’s not losing water soluble terps and other compounds lost during a wash/freeze dry.
Claims he was recently at an outing with friends, when comparing his rosin to their live hash rosin they preferred his. Also claims he doesn’t get that popcorn taste you get from flower rosin made with older dried material
Any kernel of truth or is this dude just blowing smoke? His rosin looks fire but I don’t have enough experience to question his claims
People say that when they’re trying to justify working cheap.
These are the types of claims someone makes when they don’t want to spend time doing a proper wash. I notice of all the claims this person makes, it sounds like he avoids discussing the mess his flower rosin leaves in a banger. If I were to have spent $2000 on a low temp press and $1k+ freeze dryer, that’s the time and place where we don’t try shift back to flower rosin. If you’re going to make flower rosin, you can use your costco membership and return the freeze dryer and find someone else to buy your lowtemp press and then just go get a Dabpress press.
Not many people will want to line up to buy flower rosin, especially the customers who already enjoy hash rosin. But … If you like debating people … You could spend a lot of time trying to convince people that flower rosin is better as a never ending uphill battle if you enjoy debating people.
Just keep washing and you’ll find the process to get easier and easier as you keep doing it and your washes and presses will always improve in quality
Yeah, that’s not the plan. I was just looking for opinions from more experienced people on his claims since I don’t see much pushback on his Reddit posts. I think the rosin looks wild and I would try it but that’s about it.
I really don’t have a problem washing, I love the cold. If anything I’m trying to figure out where I can build a cold room so I can do this better and during the summer. I have a room I can get to 55’f in the summer, but not really cold room levels.
Trying to fight the urge to buy a hashtek 20 gallon because it’s really too big for my needs and I got pretty good separation with a paddle
This was after my first wash. Ran everything once with just a paddle, then mixed them all back together and hit them with a paint mixer for edibles. Turned out a lot cleaner than I was expecting. I tossed in some older dry trim too
Love this sprayer, tons of juice. Next time I’ll setup another fresh water reservoir, recycling got crazy foamy after a few cycles
I would much rather wash everything then trim. I have to keep a good bit of flower for people tho, otherwise I would just wash it. Still washed about 60% of my total harvest. I prefer dabs myself but my family and friends prefer flower. I do love my dry herb vapes and hash holes tho.
Couldn’t get that link to work, dunno why. Something feels super sketch about downloading from limewire though, I still have memories of og limewire, like Napster with software and tons of viruses lol
For what it’s worth, found a dope tip on Reddit. Can’t lower the shelf temp below 50, but you can just set the timer to zero and it won’t turn on the shelf after the cycle
Also kind of surprised by the efficiency of the unit. Manufacturer claims like 900-1200 for the small unit. I guess because we run a low shelf temp with cannabis that it doesn’t need as much power. Just the freezer was around 250w, with the pump on around 300w. Occasionally it would jump to 650-700w, but it never stayed there for long. I also didn’t stand and watch it all day. Most of the cycle was 300w from the 8-10 times I checked on it
Thank god you have reddit
This is why i’m sick of this industry
You will find that sometimes this 0:00 setting resets itself and if you end up having to run beyond your preset dry time the new firmware will kick the tray heater back on. @SubstituteCreature is trying to offer the older firmware that doesn’t create this glitch. On the new firmware sometimes you’ll set this to 0:00 and if you go back to that same interface a minute later it’s already back to a 1:30-2:00 tray warmer setting
I wanted to try the older firmware, just couldn’t get the download link to work. Tried several times right when you posted it, but it kept saying incomplete link or something along those lines. Tried several times, now it says content not found
I appreciate the help, I just didn’t want to pester you about it
The Reddit comment I found was completely unrelated to cannabis, believe it was some post about issues with making candy
