Dude honestly I feel like you could make a VERY successful security business doing this for large scale farms and urban-located indoor grows as I know out here in CO shit gets craaaaaaazy. As we prep for widespread federal legalization it would be absolutely used by investors trying to protect multi million dollar properties. Jeezus, I know for in-person and cyber split security audits it’s five figures at the very VERY least on the higher end. You obviously know what the fuck is up - you could easily market yourself to great success

The movement detection is very low quality. And it only stores video when it senses movement. Random small movements, wind in the trees etc would set it off. So I’d get like 100-200 notifications per day. But it wouldn’t always sense things, like cars driving by, it’d just completely miss them. I tried drawing the area it detected but it still tripped for random stuff. I stopped paying attention to the notifications cause there were so many. My house got broken into. Got some video of the people that broke in but the camera missed a lot, like it caught them pulling out of my driveway but not pulling in.
A real security system will be able to differentiate between things like the wind or animals and people. And more importantly they’ll record everything, not just when there is movement.

Was this the 1080p system with the NV and 1tb DVR? I pretty much intend on this to be rolling 24/7, would you still consider this system useful at all if that was my intention?
I dont remember now its been awhile. It was a deal they had at Costco. Maybe not their best work. But I wouldn’t trust anything they make, I don’t think it was a hardware issue, I think it was a software thing, and I imagine they use the same software across all their systems.
I could be way off on that though.

From experience;
Gonna want more than 1tb, usually a less expensive but worth it upgrade storage for 24/7. 1tb, 1080p, 4 cameras, would be 10ish days of continuous footage. The usual goal is 90 days.
Cheaper systems don’t last as long. I notice get blurry due to sun exposure after 2-3 years. Cheap cameras are better than no cameras. If you cant read the license plate or clearly see the face, the police wont help you.
IR flood lights are cheap on amazon and worth it to increase night vision.

Feds definitely do. They have an app on their phone that will allow them to access anyone’s emails/phone calls/texts at any time no restrictions. Its not admissible but they can use it in other ways.

If anyone wants to cut down on outside intrusion a bit, editing your host file on windows is easy and doesn’t require special hardware. It basically makes all unapproved traffic unable to be resolved
c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
The same lists are good for anyone planning on setting up a pihole or similar as well

I bet a bit of foil somewhere on the body would change the characteristics of the signal enough to where it wouldn’t recognize you.

This is my last one I made - Built for under 1500 and able to withstand 40mph winds and can handle a 2lb payload easily, GPS unit inside interfaces with flight tracking software. Has a transmitter for going direct to a vid source but isn’t amazing quality. A fleet of these would secure tens of miles on the low lowwwwwww…vid source from a not pictured gopro
