My system is not pressure regulated. The pressure changes seen are owing directly to the volume of gas being generated. Higher pressure equals more gas and this indicates to me precisely when the next fraction is about to appear. It would take a bit of hands-on time to understand how it is I utilize this but suffice it to say that just like a head themometer reads out changes in temperature as the fractions begin to overlap, so too at the same time is the pressure changing in a closed system. You just need the sensor in the correct position and of the correct type to be able to read this.
A regulator works by introducing a calibrated leak into the system so can only regulate to a higher pressure than is being generated by the vacuum pump. So not only would you lose the pressure feedback if regulated as I described but you would be saddled with degraded vacuum but that held steady. Not what this process needs.
As far as rating of pump the CFM in this case is of no consequnce. The rating you must know is the ultimate pressure rating of the pump which I call blank off value. When the pump is attached ONLY to a pressure gauge then turned on you can measure directly what the blank off value is. My Robinair HVAC pump has a blank off rating of 75 microns which is 74 microns higher than my Edwards EM 28. The reason you need to know this value is to estimate temperatures.
You can use this link to find a page that will compute the boiling point of THC as a crude estimate if you put in the values I list. Somewhere on the pump or online the tech specs for the pump will give an ultimate rating which is the same as blank off value. Once computed you know what temperatures to expect and at that point decide if the heating mantle can handle the temp. The tech specs for heating mantles will say what max rating is.
use this link and use microns as unit of measure for pressure
@Soxhlet I donāt have damaged airways, I have vocal cord disfunction that has been around for a year now Ive see many specialists and am still trying to recover. I was set on nasal spray because that seemed like my only route for as fast as an onset as dabs has. And I wouldnāt snort a sticky solution up my nose thats why iāve been inquiring lol.
I have not examined sublingual dosing, would that have roughly close to the same onset time that dabs have?
Would sublingual be more of an edible high or smoking high?
I have been telling you that sublingual absorbtion is your best bet from square one! Use the mint extract recipe I dmād you about several days ago. https://future4200.com/t/isolate/3349
I have held clear disty under my tongue on the morning walks I do. THC will disolve slowly under the tongue and reminds me of tough caramel in the way it disolves. Very slow and it took a pea sized glob about a half mile walking at old mans pace to disolve fully.
No real taste to speak of when pure but I do not believe any part of it passed through in the mouth. It just gets swallowed and because it is fully disolved this way but slowly then perhaps the benefit is an assured dose rather than a glob dumped into the stomach but who knows? I am certain though that sub lingual as the delivery is not effective given the hydrophobic nature of the stuff.
I have indeed made snuff out of baking finely crumbled flower and lacing it with THC. I snorted it like a snuff and without terpenes and baked it was not bad at all. It also was not all that great but did not make me sneeze. After a few minutes the body response was like any mild dust and I got enough congestion to give me sniffles but here too the real transfer of medicine took place by swallowing the extra mucous produced. I used it as a lip dip too and same effect. It is like a medible.
Okay now Iām getting conflicting adviceā¦Beaker says you only get high because you end up swallowing the oil, and youāre saying it will absorbā¦Does the disty need to be water soluble???
What makes emu oil a better option? and to make it possible to be absorbed through nasal membranes it would have yo be water soluble so how would lacing disty w emu oil allow it to be snortable??
Honestly not interested with peoples judgement so thats cool. However I would like to get on with my life and not damage my vocal cords, so do you have any answers to my questions, all HELP is appreciated, thanks all.
Beaker said undiluted distillate in your mouth wonāt absorb.
Iām suggesting that with the addition of a carrier oil known for carrying cannabinoids (and others) across the dermis and into the blood stream would likely work across the much easier to traverse skin in your mouth. Iām guessing.
snortable? no. works when sprayed in your nose or mouth? quite probably. certainly worth (&^($#@&)ing trying imo.
In order to make something āwater solubleā for that application, youād need to make a nano-emulsion. is that necessary to get in across the mucous membrane. No. I donāt believe so. alcohol works sub-lingually too. which is another suggestion youāve been given.
I know nothing youāve been given meets all your criteria. water soluble powder it hard. several of us have tried redefining the problem. itās the best weāve got.
I would recommend sunflower lecithin in there too.
This is false. Iāve done it several times. The onset is just much, much slower than usual, sometimes a full 3-5 hours before effects really kick. And it likes to stick to teeth, which definitely doesnāt help⦠Iāll agree while it may not be as efficient of a route of administration as using a carrier oil, it still does work (just not to full potential)
You can use many different types of oils for this kind of things. Things like MCT, LCT, avocado seed oil, etc. A bit of alcohol can help with the process of binding the cannabinoid to the carrier oil, ie. the mint extract that @Soxhlet mentioned.
The key to this working is holding a small amount sublingually. Itās pretty difficult to have the entire suspension you put into your mouth absorb sublingually, but youāre giving it a faster route to the bloodstream via the salivary glad/opening under your tongue. Yes, you will swallow some of it, that will just come naturally. If the cannabinoid is bound to a carrier oil and you use the lecithin that youāve already mentioned (helps by acting as a permeation agent) you should have some success.
Ah. I misunderstood your paraphrase regarding absorption. I agree in that have watched it dissolve on and under my tongue over not too long of time. Obviously there are oils or enzymes that secrete for food breakdown. Now, whether those oils were swallowed or actually pass through the oral mucosa I cannot say.
A quick google search tells me that both sublingual and buccal administration of drugs can rely on secreted oils to allow absorption through the oral mucosa.
Plus, THC effects normally take a full 2-3 hour onset for me.
Say you mix coconutoil/emu oil with distillate then sonicate and or homogenize, then package that solution into an empty nasal spray bottle, then spraying a little into the nose, would that absorb and get you high? (following the above theory).
Would like to try a nasal spray solution tonight if I can
I agree I donāt know either. I was paraphrasing Beaker rather than speaking from personal experience.
the only data point I have is that 300mg swallowed as crude is not the same as 300mg mixed with a teaspoon of mct before swallowingā¦suggesting that even your gut has a hard time with bio-availability on undiluted cannabinoids.
Update, Everclear/disty solution didnāt absorb and neither did the coconut oil/disty, I stirred virtuously but no sonication yet (until I find a viable process Iām not gonna get nit picky) then let each solution sit under tongue for over 5 min, waited multiple hoursā¦nothing. Only woke up a little groggy, and improvement ideas?
