I used to work with DCM a lot. I’d recommend avoiding it if something safer is available. That shit is so nasty…

Informing people to use a hazardous extraction solvent without knowing the health risks is not a good practice. DCM is extremely volatile and carries many health risks if inhaled. This solvent should really only be used in a fume hood. As someone who has used this in an organic chemistry setting I would not advise any “at home extractions” with this solvent. If heated this molecule will release Chlorine gas into the environment which is extremely harmful as well. Not to mention this stuff will go straight through gloves and penetrate your skin with no resistance.
