Depends on many factors tbh
I have a background in electrical engineering - don’t get excited, nothing amazing. But radio always interested me. All this fucking data flying over our heads that we never hear or see. Honestly it comes down to how much space you have to play with. The random wire type is just the best, I forget the formula but you do a small calculation depending on what frequency range you’re trying to reach and then STRING IT WAY THE FUCK UP THERE. My go-to shape was the large A-frame type which was great for a bi-directional setup when I lived in a valley. Hundreds of miles north and south. But I’ve held off on getting my license, the database with ham licensee info is insane and they fucking doxx eachother all the time. I don’t need that stuff in my life

Lol you need a licence for anything that will go more than like 1000 ft. Dead ass. SOOOOO many freq’s are licensed.
Just to broadcast, which I agree with otherwise you could be fucking with emergency communications which doesn’t mean much until you’re bleeding in a ditch. One of the few times I agree with the governent

It takes years for the FCC to shut anyone down - unless you’re operating a 1000w high powered station broadcasting constantly on problematic bands they will largely leave you alone. Even then they’ll levy fines and shrug if you don’t pay. Besides, most hams are 60 year old men who just drone on and on about politics. Nothing to say to those guys anyway
I knew a guy with a pirate radio station and the fcc sent him a letter warning him that they knew
everything and they were going to come get him if he didn’t quit. Wouldn’t that be nice if all alphabet agencies sent out warning letters first before they busted anyone. Showing up by surprise without a letter first is just rude.

It varies state to state, some are easier to form businesses and LLCs than others. If you do it poorly it will lead a trail right back to you - google could probably help you since there’s a lot of variables at play. Sometimes it’s a 5 dollar fee and you’re on your way

It’s all about how you form your business or trust really. A business can own another business for example, same for a trust. These add layers of obfuscation when attempting to identify you, if these originations own your phones, property, etc. There is alot of great information online a, and if done correctly can be done for very little monitary cost. Lots of paper pushing and loss of convience.

DMV warns you ahead of time about fake ids and invites you in for questioning via a letter in the mail or so I hear
rc stuff does a constant changing of frequency, that way everyone can all fly at once.
