Is the dewaxing 100% necessary even or could you- if you had the time- leave jars untouched for months and get diamond growth?

absolutely. I use something similar but without a jacket. I soak my column for 30 mins in a cooler outside filled with ice packs. It sits around 30F, not cold enough to prevent picking up waxes, but the amount I get is very small. If you soak with colder temps you will pull an even cleaner product that me.
Dewaxing is not 100% necessary. It is very important to ending up with a super terpy watery layer once your crystals have formed though. I donāt dewax and my terp layer is more of a thick honey consistency vs watery. I get really nice crystals every time without dewaxing or using dry ice at any point in the process.
You can totally do it non dewaxed the terps just stay super thick, and taste like plant materialā¦
This whole Tek is designed around sealing and walking away for weeks at time! As long as at proper saturated level when sealedā¦if looks like jiffy pop popcorn expanding up like muffin, the lid, you have to much solvent
Blast fast and cold no soak! Run lil extra fuel! Chill everything w dry iceā¦just ur cans solvent only take short time as u donāt want them colder than column or wonāt go inā¦ Good luck!

cured works fine too as long as itās been stored decently and hasnāt turned to crap. As long as you have THCA in there, it will work. For what itās worth, my runs are never fresh, theyāre always dried. I get lazy sometimes and the material sits out for an extra couple weeks to a month and is over-dry, but it still works out great. I do notice the fresher it is, the quicker it all happens though.
This one was month old material stored in a Turkey bag in 70 ish degree closet, it actually never really started growing, so we ran under warm water till it was thin then added a little puretane out of a can and set on the floor at 65f then after a week it started growing 2days ago we put at 80 in the vac oven and growth doubled by today gonna leave another week or soā¦

So non-dewaxed is more viscous like honey versus a runnier version if itās been dewaxed, and the dewaxed is more desirable because of this consistency? Is a thicker, more honey like consistency harder to work with?
For $300 you can get a closed loop from China? Iād love to get pointed in the right direction if you could.
I totally was mistaking on the amount, I figure a bigger closed column w dewx would set back at least 5-600

So yeah I guess in long run that cls a nice bit moreā¦but I rather spend $1000 at least for full live set up and be able to recover and really save!

Pressure test your ownā¦ And repeatedly safety test it! I donāt mind turning a wrench to save a $
yeah the thicker it is, the harder it is to pour the terp layer offā¦ In my experience with not dewaxing, the terp layer is impossible to remove from the crystalsā¦ Itās a gooey consistency, but just doesnāt pour at room temp. I donāt mind though and I just purge it all together when its done, then dab it as a whole, but if your end goal is to recrystallize, or use the terp layer for carts, you will definitely want to dewax and/or run everything extremely cold.

Simply freezing a non Jacket in dry ice loadedā¦or jacket made clothe or wood will work!!! Boy o boy do I love that dry ice now! I hardly ever separate either though!
I have done a dry ice run once a few years ago with fresh live material, it came out amazing, but I havenāt done it since because the dry ice supplier is like an hour away and I just canāt bring myself to get some before running lol. Youāre making me really want to give it another go for my next crystal run though. I just wish DI was easier to find near me

hahaha yeah I can believe that, I can kinda tell what you say by the veggie taste, but i guess Iām so used to it I donāt really notice. Iām all for making it better though, so Iām going to give that a go. I googled some dry ice distributors near me, found one thats only 24 mins away, so that might be a better option. It sucks thatās the closest though, wish I could just make some myself 
Yeah stone is right about veggy taste, when are you trying to pour, non dewaxed I can pour most off at 21-24 days in, I then use freezer cold puretane, break diamond patty apart and put on a sifting sieve for kitchen use and spray them off fast and cold, then purge they turn out really clean.
