OKC will only allow listed/labeled booths

Just for cultivation and Manufacturing… I heard Logan is more lax on different things… Still don’t want to deal with not being compliant and having to shut down. Guess I’ll go ahead with that 10x10 on their page for 40k… that’s not too bad of a price to not have to get fucked with in the long run…

This is the last correspondence we received from OKC.

"We are currently reviewing a set of standards and procedures for approving extraction booths such that your engineer has shown here. The set of minimum standards will become a standard we will use when evaluating and approving this type of equipment prior to inspection or use. We don’t currently have this approval process done as of yet on our end but are anticipating that this will happen very soon.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

Sincerely,

Mike Miller, CFM

Inspection Services Superintendent

City of Oklahoma City

(405) 297-2039 "

So I was told directly that they will not be granting any C.O.C. until they make these standards. I was also told there is not timeframe for when these could be done. At this point I guess I will just have to get my lawyer to speak with the city and the OMMA again. I don’t understand how they are getting away with enforcing a standard that is not already set, in an unforeseen timeframe. Companies have to renew licensing. OMMA and city officials are not working together. My license has been in limbo since March.

Hey Sheena, I’m working on providing them with standards from several jurisdictions throughout the US. After this, I imagine we’ll be having some conversations about what will stick and what won’t.

I will reach out to you once mike gives me a more solid timeline and what standards you guys should expect.

I hope so. I don’t know how much more time the OMMA is going to give me. I have been doing this with the city since March and it is the only thing I need to renew my license. It’s now November.

OKC seems like one of the most obstructive jurisdictions I’ve ever seen. I’ve got stuff approved in Portland with less trouble. I got hydrocarbon extraction approved in a HOME MADE walk in hood (we did get a peer review done on it). What on Earth is up with this place.

We had a bomb go off in 95 and for the first year of permitting they allowed a lot of things they shouldn’t have.

This strictness is an over correction of sorts—but I’m working directly with OKC to find a balance between safety and reality…and they are really willing to work to make sure they don’t hinder business but keep the city safe

Do you think I could get away with converting a paint booth out in Newalla? When you go down the checklist on both, most of the items are identical to a c1d1. Minus a light or two. Your thoughts?

Step 1: Talk to your local fire marshal.

They are going to be the ones to tell you exactly how easy or difficult your inspection will be, and they tend to give a lot more benefit of the doubt if they get involved early in the process.

Not sure how I missed this thread. But we have several booths active in Oklahoma without issues, if any clients need help please let us know
