OK: your non-c1d1 days are limited…

the appeal to extremes is the form of argument that attempts to establish a claim by showing that the opposite scenario would lead to absurdity or contradiction

na. I’m stoned and thought it was funny. It’s the end of the day. :expressionless:

What’s your take on this?
https://casetext.com/regulation/oklahoma-administrative-code/title-420-oklahoma-liquefied-petroleum-gas-board/chapter-10-liquefied-petroleum-gas-administration/section-42010-1-14-effective-until-9142021standards-for-the-storage-and-handling-of-liquefied-petroleum-gas

I’m trying to find this info in writing. Seems like it’s not official yet. Maybe gas suppliers be hustlng?

Sunday in Oklahoma makes it impossible to find out anything

AHJ on Monday morning:

“Y’all can buy whatever fucking gas you want as long as you stop calling me before I’ve finished my coffee”

My thoughts on that-

Always chase the dollar- who benefits from making it more difficult to store / attain extraction gas?

AirGas and Prax are straight sales people, they run on volume. Maybe even instilling FUD principles to get people to stock up on more gas or trying to be buddy buddy to keep the account? I have dealt with 3 different gas companies in OK, I know they look like blue collar workers, but they will straight rob you blind if you do not pay attention and stay competitive.

Oklahoma was and still is a gas State before anything. Gas is now sky rocketing, people will travel less. Delta variant might kick in another lock down, contributing to less gas usage. I don’t think they are ready to mess up their other prosperous economic flow without an extremely compelling reason, not to mention being sued.

I had the Fire Dept. walk through my facility unannounced and this was the facts he left me with. The land and buildings here are so spread out they’re taking a more “assumption of risk” approach, they strictly just want to know the layout of the building if it does go up. They want a posted exit plan and base it off the amount of people in the building.

The most compelling argument I heard about being IN the city and why it’s so immensely difficult and will likely continue, is because of the OKC bombing. I was told after the bombing the city implemented extremely strong codes but the outside counties did not and have not implemented.

I still really can’t think of who benefits from economically other than the the C1D1 people to be honest. Say there are 600-700 labs here, on average $50k a pop, that’s a $32M goldmine. While I want to believe safety is in mind when it comes to these decisions I think it’s more money involved.

EDIT- my thoughts on that link too, while I did not study in OK, generally the State codes are applied broadly, but allow the counties, cities, and other municipalities to up with their own set of codes that supersede it. In essence it would take a lot of case law in your AHJ to see how it’s all applied and what your unique argument would be. But from what we’ve experienced my argument they have waived their right to apply anything now due to the law being 3 years in now,

OMMA will pass the 10 mil on to you guys.

Very good post, I think you hit the nail on the head about them declaring an emergency session and implementing new rules as they did with metrc for you guys.

Once they do that it’s law for you guys and that’s that barring the lawsuits that will just slow it down.

C1d1 is required in every other state that licenses extraction, I think they defer to NFPA rules. Order your booth and talk to an architect with a site engineer ASAP so you aren’t shut down longer than necessary when the rules change officially.

@Boomtownpharms I had heard something similar and was curious if this was going to be a thing. Thanks for the update!

We do this without PSI, they are a PE. We use another PE named John that makes this process much easier

Our gas guy just confirmed this. Beginning next week they can’t sell to anyone without a licensed C1D1/C1D2 enclosure. They also have to submit a list of the processors they sell to, and whether or not each processor has a licensed booth.

Wow, for them to put it on the gas companies to regulate this is mind blowing.

Sad thing is, People are actually going to do this. My gas guy has been slammed with butane orders due to this exact reason.

That’s basically what the gas company told us lol, they’re getting hit with orders that’ll last their clients 6-12 months
