Numbers game: is your WFE a goer?

Why no love for VTA? Their units are a tad pricey but from what I have seen work better than anything else.

does VTA make a version that can produce 100l a day?

Edit: yep. they sure do!

Sure, if you bring the $$$ they will manufacturer anything customised to your needs.

VTA (via root sciences) can do custom builds for whatever your heart desires, but their ‘off the shelf’ units are the VKL (1.4-1.1liter/h) VKS (3.75-3 liter/h) and VK100 (7-9 liter/h). You gotta do two passes of course so typically you’ll buy two and link them in series.

Bump.

Is that WFE of yours a goer?

How much are you getting through your “distillate machines” boys and girls?

What you got & what can you squeeze out of it?

Wiped Film Manufacturers

Because that’s what hypertext is for…

Chemtech 6" wfe SS 900-1200 g/hr crude to dist pass output, 1200-1500 g/hr distillate polishes output

Chemtech 10" 1.5-2L crude to dist pass output, 2.5L+ on polishing output

Chemtech 30" crude to distillate 6-8L /hr, 9L ish an hour on distillate polishing output

Pope 6" wfe SS 2-5L/hour fast pass

Pope 4" wfe glass 1-2L/hr

Pope 2" wfe glass 200-300g per hour

-Glass 6" Pope with feed and discharge pumps-

2.5L per hour feed (pretty sure I can do 3, still playing with getting my vac deeper)

I’m cutting just enough to get to ~95% TAC and leaving ~2% in the raffinate, roughly 18% waste, input material is 75-85% TAC. So, I think I’m getting all the cadabinoids  Color is near-clear, some of the clearest D9 I’ve seen.

Someone talk about your roots science unit/ VTA I’ve never run one.

@Brazilianchemist talk about your prescott unit too. That thing has some nifty advantages I’ve never seen on other units.

First wiper I ever ran was a 6 inch steel VTA

Loved that machine

The gear pumps are beast, never leaked even when ran dry

I’ve used a glass VTA system, made some real potent disty and was relatively easy to run. Chasing down vacuum leaks on that thing was a job in and of itself though…

Damn what makes the pope so much faster?

Abuse tolerance.

The wiper setup too I believe

What would it do in terms of throughput?

yeah… does she, you know, go?

I’ll be honest I haven’t run that machine in well over a year and don’t fully remember. If I had to guess, I’d say 2L/hr-ish?

Just getting to know this girl. Custom built 6” SS wiper. She’s a goer for sure but I’m still getting acquainted with her, trying to find out how far she “goes”, maximum capabilities have not been reached but I just met her, haven’t gotten freaky with her yet. Want to say she dumps 2.5-4.5L/hr output depending on feed rate. Was hitting 2.5-3L/hr today on my 2nd pass. (Slightly slower feed)

That is GORGEOUS @yanwoo, care to share more info and specs? It’s a sweet leaf?

Yes it’s a SweetLeaf. Waiting on a specs sheet myself, which I will throw up here. The engineer I work for designed her, basically a 6” delta replica with larger pathways to cold trap and turbo, wipers instead of rollers and a couple other differences/similarities.

Like I said I’m just getting acquainted with these machines. (3 weeks, with ~1 year previous experience running a 6” glass Chinese wiper) what a difference.

I will post more info and specs as I get more familiar with her.

Like the sweet leaf that makes extractors @yanwoo? You gotta link? How much was she?
