Nucleation/Sugar problem since spring a started

Nothing in your production method has changed at all? Powders, new equipment, new material? Could be the material you’re running if nothing else.

I have sprayed it like liquid. I have sprayed it out as foam that melts almost instantly or even foam that only melts in the oven

Shame on me… I am lieing by saying nothing in my process changed in my first post. I am using powders now. But i was having this problem way before i started using them. Me making that statement saying nothing has changed was refering to me having this problem before i started using filter powders, before using the filter powder i changed nothing and this started happening.

Filter powder definitely compiled your issue, but even if you’re growing the same material, terpene concentrations in relation to cannabinoids can vary from harvest to harvest and plant to plant. You may have a slightly less terpy crop resulting in a higher concentration of cannabinoids and as such causing crystallization due to purity. Or if you changed processing temperatures, times, cooling method, etc. etc. every variable you can think of.

I deff see more sugar on the clear slabs which i assume is because of higher purity/concentrations. Re running mutiple batches together always cuts down on the total damage for some reason.
But i even have the sugaring in the first spot i spray onto each slab when i switch back to the old method i used to extract which is when i didnt use a seperate dewax column and crf

Im wondering if it is a temperture change from my spout to the trays i spray on.
Im holding my face right now. Smfh!

Most things i covered. At the end of my days with the BHO extraction i never had nucleations. Its a lengthy read but I covered just about everything

Try changing your spout, if for any reason it got hit by something that could chip or dent it, that could cause it to do that. Its turbelance in the flow.

Push some nitro or pressurized air when not in use threw the spout, if it whistles it has a small chip or dent even if u cant see it

Is it possible to not use the spout and lose couple gs, or pour out to check this?

I would have to build something and maybe buy a few parts to be abled to do pours. My systems pretty big i would need a collection pot with a detachable spill tray.
Ive got away with using the spout a good 130 runs without issue. So my stubborn self wants to figure it out and make it work again.

Ive been reading all night and talking to a few people. I think ive been pulling to aggresively at my last 20% of my reclaim with to much heat 100f+

Why not just big scoop-upla just to check before changing out things… recover back almost everything then scoop out old school style.

You’ll lose some but might settle some thoughts

Are u running super fresh material? U dry ur own stuff? Does it get same conditions every time?

Quick question… Filtering through powders. Only the edge of the slab nucleated. Would like to nucleate the whole thing so the color is bright. I aggitated it a bunchhh but nothing… Its dark shatter now

To get whole slab to nucleate i just leave in oven few degrees higher then what i purged at. No vac on oven

it has been -2c to +3c this past couple weeks and i have not had a single crumb of sugar grow in the corners where it always used to nucleate for me. Not 1 of my slabs has sugared up at all in the past 2 weeks. Is it possible the temperature change is causing this. I feel like the temperature change in the summer from the cold boiling solvent to hot outside air caused some kind of condensation. right now im experiencing cold solvent to cold environment and I have no problem. i also like to mention the humidity levels are higher than ever 60-85%

Hey crash, newbie to the form here but been running a big set up for a couple years now. this exact problem has caused me major issues over the past few months. I tried switching all powders up from media bros crx/cry to silca/t5/t4 in different variations. found water in my tank one time fixed that issue but now it is occurring again. just wondering if you ever put a finger on the exact issue you where having??

water in the gas is usually the culprit. moisture in media?

i had great success using n2 backfill on my ovens instead of venting to atmosphere.

patience is key, the slab needs to be at temp for at least 45 mins before pulling vac. safe flipping practices must be adhered to. the tiniest wrong movement allows air to penetrate the lattice and sugar up.

Well what was ur issue do tell for other newbies…powders in ur mix,water from no filter drier,dirty spout? Not using b80?..not vacin it right in the oven…do tell knowing the problems answer could potentially help many others

Thank you brotha, Ive read a few things on n20 backfill lately was going to look into it even though humidity is never more then 15% out here really unless its raining. also thanks for clarifying that never really had an exact time to start my pull just eyed the melt. and to be honest through trying different processes i had a coil after my chiller to chill the gas to the tank because i don’t have a jacketed tank or a sub temp chiller. mistake, should have done double coils on injection rather then chill the tank. lots of condensation. also wasn’t to educated on how much or long the zeolite needed changing now i am. the chiller i have gets it down to at least 70f on recovery. going for double coil injection hopefully it gets me cold enough. just emptied tank again no water now its been a few weeks. i do have a spout also.

I’m also kind of curious what your cause/solution was.
I believe you and I are in a similar area but I’m in a fucking rainforest area.

I normally was able to attribute it to my guys getting sloppy due to the low temperature and humidity in the winter and bringing excess humidity into the process somewhere as both rise

Another possible culprit is most of the vacuum ovens we use in the industry have their probes outside of the chamber. so if you have calibrated your oven and you happen to be somewhere where you’re getting drafts or your temperature changes depending on the season. I swear we have seen it dump extra heat into the oven due to be in calibrated when the room was noticeably cooler during the winter

Unfortunately the event normally preceded me flying in and watching over everyones shoulder for the next week or until we got back to acceptable incidences. This usually led to me making several crack downs all at once on top of everyone being on their best behaviour. so we were never actually able to pinpoint it but it did happen two possibly three years in a row.

This year due to the market being what it is I’ve been continuously running every thing myself and it hasn’t happened… so once again I was unable to figure out what was doing it
