Next holy grail cbn-d

No that talks about a way more interesting one
Cbd delta 6

Makes sense. Cool, I look forward to hearing how that goes :call_me_hand:

I was thinking about this yesterday

If were making d10 as a precursor to cbn then we must be making d10 cbd as a precursor to cbnd

We need to start trying to move the double bond around on cbd

I have been for the last few months
At least 38 samples are waiting to be analyzed
But pfff so little is known about these standards
Most of my attempts where based on base reactions not acids
Super base like your naoh on methanol at 150 C
None gives me a psychoactive trip so I doubt I made any progress

Really wish someone had an in-house NMR

What Iā€™d like to see is the acid forms of the different isomers and dehydrogenated versions. Like CBNA, d10-THCA, etc

Cbna is a hard one without carboxylation

I dont think thereā€™s a strong enough base thatā€™ll work at room temp to make d10 thca or cbna

Maybe a super base?

Theres gotta be a way

I tried naoh on dmso didnā€™t do much :weary:

Probably what might work best is to esterize the carboxyl group to protect it, then de-esterize it when the isomerization has completed.

Iā€™ll run 2d protons for you if you ship me your sample already in the tube. Iā€™m in the nmr lab about once a week anyway. Iā€™ll do correlation and 13C experiments for a little $$ lol.

@Kingofthekush420 should just have his top CRISPR scientists make him the exclusive seed seller of CBND dominant flower

Far easier to just make it from isolate

Any progress?

Anyone have projections on when this hemp noid might be more widely available to end consumers in an isolate form?

Hi, did you see a change in color (from the golden yellow to a bright orange)? I will send my samples to the lab but the change in color (however probably from a unrelevant oxidation) gave me hopes of a ring formation.
What was your experience? (I did not use any metal catalyst or aqueous phase, I tried to keep it as clean as possible since I started with a good 90% THC distillated).

Thanks!

Any new developments? We are looking for a sample and if itā€™s similar to hhc (which is starting to be banned in EU) we would buy a lot. Thy.

I have gone pretty far down this rabbit holeā€¦

So far the only success Iā€™ve had was CBN to CBND with photo-oxidation in ethanol. Definitely saw a little peak show up on the GC at the position of CBND (snagged the standard from caymen).

CBD doesnā€™t become CBND as you might think. CBF and CBX are the results from what Iā€™ve seen instead.

Iā€™ve done low temp and high temp dehydrogenation.

Made many kilos of what I believe to be Cannabifuran; based on literature. Itā€™s an interesting molecule. Toxic / potentially cancer causing and doesnā€™t like to distill easily.

Hey canā€™t write you a dm. Would you share the standard?

Pretty sure I picked it up hereā€¦ no DEA licenses are required for purchase.

On an RXi-35-Sil Column, it lands to the left of CBC but not past CBT (or was it CBL?). I will get on my GC here after bit and snag a screen shot of where everything I have landsā€¦ It is a pretty good collection, about 15 or so products.

A formidable push in the right direction. Maybe next we try photo oxidation in ethanol but also in the presence of aminobenzoic acid? Then maybe we can quench and ice bath??
