Newbie Equipment Question

If you want to do crc then you’ll have to add that to your list.
And if you want to make those consistencies you will need a vacuum oven.

Are you growing indoor? Or is your material outs?

What I’m getting at is if you have dank material it doesn’t need crc and imo shouldn’t use it.
But if you have whatever material then ya you’ll need a crc setup.

I straight up won’t smoke anything that’s been through a crc column at this point.

Do you have a harbor freight by you? You can totally use one of those cheap vac pumps from there to purge extracts. It if you have more to spend a nicer pump is chill. I have the cheap hfs ones but only because it came with my oven.

This is bare minimum what you’d need to do crc(equipment wise, you’ll still need powders) I’ve never done it inline but I know people have.

weve been talking threw DM… im just trying to get him set up for the cheapest he can which meant grabbing some used equipment from various members on the forum… told him used ovens literally come up on the forum it seems weekly… used vac pumps from here or ebay… possibly even a used extractor from a member here…

as much as i love to sell shit… its really not always about the money. ive told him, i have no problem selling you everything new but with the small amount of material every 3 months… why not do it the most efficient so you dont look back on this and regret it like a ton do.

i might even have a used extractor inbound this week… one of my best friends quit smoking, growing and extraction and was just gonna give me the extractor… but i told him id get him some money… lets see what he sends me… Id have to imagine this is one of the first 5 extractors ive ever sold… LOL

That disclaimer on the BVV site is a real turn off.

Not seeing it
Edit I see what you’re talking about now.

I can’t tell you how many times a disclaimer warning about legal use has stopped me…

I’ll be honest, this would be an extremely expensive purchase for me. I’d likely be putting it on credit. As mentioned here a couple of times, I am a patient, I’m not a commercial grow nor a company, I don’t have the type of income to throw 5k in cash somewhere. I have no issue with used equipment in general, but I wouldn’t be able to put that on credit obviously.

That was why I originally tried to find a processor that would work with us. Or a member of this group that lived in OK. 5k is far more than I have available, it’s fair for the products, don’t get me wrong. But if I buy them, it would need to be on credit.

I don’t suppose anyone here can tag members in OK?

Start with a closed column

Upgrade as you go.

Before you know you have a complete loop and some good knowledge

It won’t be 5k.

Get that 1300$ setup

Get that 900$ bvv oven

Get a $100 harbor freight vacuum pump.

Skip everything else for now. Especially a crc. That shit is extra money that isn’t actually necessary

And a tank of butane white you’re ordering the vacuum oven from bvv. Unless you can get that local. Which is ideal. I know hardware factory store is in ok. You should hit them up. I built my whole setup basically from hardware factory store. And you can buy your butane and dry ice there too

I agree upgrade as you go. Most people don’t just drop it all at once ($$$) and build it all out fancy in the beginning.

Possibly.

You could also look here…

https://omma.us.thentiacloud.net/webs/omma/register/#/business/search/all/Processor

how many of the 1500+ processors listed in your state did you contact?

Find it hard to imagine that nobody wants to take your money…

If you chose BHO and are really on a budget, you could start with a simple vaccuum chamber until you can afford to upgrade to an oven.

True. You can go that route. But the old saying buy twice cry twice. Also just so you know you can finance stuff through best value vacs. So you can technically get the oven financed.

Honestly I probably wouldn’t get this chamber option. Yes it will work. But unless you plan on only blasting a lb at a time and purging it before you run again, you will not have enough space to purge the whole run at once. If you do plan on doing a 1lb run then it’ll work out. But if you run say 4-5 times in one day (which most people do) you will not have enough surface area to purge all the extract in one go. You’d have to split it into sections and purge an oz or 2 at a time

So probably legally allowed to use ethanol or a press. Not hydrocarbons?

Who has that ever stopped lol

The collection pot is a vacuum chamber…

I’d just get an oven. Like you said, buy once, cry once. Do you think the .9cu ft oven would be okay? The one AI one on stainless steel site?

.9 should be fine for you.

I have a 1.9 and barely use most of the space these days.

You might run into some space issues temporarily while running through that 25lbs depending on how fast you blast it all.
If you go hard one week and blast all day for 5 days you’ll easily be able to run through that 25lbs. But will not have enough oven space.

After you run through the 25lbs I don’t see the oven ever being a bottle neck again unless you find yourself in another position of having 25lbs +

The only rule here is for commercial regarding hydrocarbons. Nothing for patients. To the earlier question, I call every processor on the OMMA list within 1.5 hours of where I live. It’s further up on the thread, but there was only one company interested, and it was to make rosin. 25lbs of dry material for $2500. I believe I called close to 100 processors on that list at minimum.

That’s very helpful. Thank you, you’ve been a wealth of knowledge on this thread.
