Increase your condenser temp for a cleaner mains fraction :ok_hand: looks great for your first run. Keep up the good work!

What were your run-time values?

Temps, microns, etc?

Where the heads and tails flask? What did thos fractions look like?

the bottled flask was the ends, 250ml flask is the middle. First flask 100ml was discarded since it was the head and I made sure to collect a bit of my main fraction just to make sure I didn’t have cross contamination

As for the open run time values, would you care to explain a bit more ?

What temp do you recommend on the condenser if I don’t have a recirculating heater how high should I go? Didn’t realize this helps get a cleaner mains fraction!

If you dont have a recirculating heater then how are you even running

Ahh in my head thats a recirculating heater as long as you have a pump lol.

I set mine at 55-60c

You can go hotter if you have a pump that can hang

Haha yeah I just mean we can’t go above like 90c… realistically we can’t go above probably 75-80c or we will warp the pump outlet (know this from experience) lol

Also, sorry to the OP didn’t mean to jack the post but would like some more info in regards to running higher condenser temps

Gotta get a water heater pump.

First run tested at 76% refined crude

Looks great :+1:t3:
may I ask what method of winterization solvent you used?

No winterizing involved. I used a series of media.
Bottom: magsil
Second: T5 - (which helps remove the sulfur smell of T41)
Third: T41
4th.: AC topped with a layer of silica 60

I’m working on removing the amber color with that method and have been super successful! The first pics didn’t use these media in the correct order. Once I organized my media to the appropriate layer, it made a world of difference!

Stack them in the arrangement I listed and this is what you’ll achieve

how much do you use pr say a 1000ml buchner of each media

Polished AFTER T41 and T5 using a carbon scrub.

Silica by itself:

T41 by itself

T5 by itself - removes the sulfur smell of T41

Magsil layered with AC

@Cannatonic
Are these pics of crude with the solvent fully removed?
Or still diluted?
Hexane, heptane or pentane?

Diluted for sure, look at the ripples and bubbles from the solvent dripping in.
