thats why I have more issues than with hps. But its not an issue yet. Just very noticable that led dont necessarily run cool. None of the premade lights have remote ballasts. I have the duct right over the ballast and a box fan. My hps ballast standard is to be in a manifold box with the filter and that works well with no AC The issues I mentioned werent heat. It was probably a pk def that was caused by the strong light. I sat on a cob light for years because it seemed to hurt my clones. The 3590s run cool but arent nearly as visibly bright as quantum boards. ill test them all before new years.
@BG305 I was wrong about the Barrina lights- I had a business associate with an Apogee PAR meter come in to do some work and they came in lower than what was posted in the documentation. I gave Barrina too much credit for their fixtures in the greens market. They are still suitable for the cloner and veg.
I wouldnât intentionally mislead anyone about growing good flower, and for that I apologize.
good find! theres quite a bit of conflicting info in that listing though⌠SMD 2835 diodes in the description but elsewhere it says âSamsung, SMD diodesâ.
Found another cheap 640w shipped from U.S. and they claim LM561C.
I would rather spend more for better quality lighting but I know some might be looking for budget bar LEDs. These are $630 each but 3 are under $600 each:
640W Samsung LED Quantum Grow Light Full Spectrum Fluence Replace Fluence SPYDR | eBay
dear buyer,
we use 2835 SMD on this light totall 2592pcs leds ,if you want samsung led the costs is very expensive .it wonât be sell at this price,
with our experience the 2835 SMD is not bad so far as we use in many other grow lights .
CRI is 90
561pcs red light
1728pcs warm white light
288pcs white light
Its cool my brother. The official review is they suck. ![]()

Like you said, maybe for rhe cloner. I really like the clone LEDâS i got from lux. I will post some pics tomorrow as the clones really like them.
My local hydro store guy is quoting me 1200 for the gavita. Itâs hard not to pass up that deal.
Growwrshouse has/had gavota 1700e for 1000 plus the adapter. The controller is needed to make the adapter work .
When was this? I have never seen the 1700e for $1000 anywhere at anytime and I been looking for deals on bar lighting for a bit. Not sure how I missed that. Right not GH is only offering a measly 1% discount on 4 lights. If they had that much margin to sell at 1k without a loss not sure why they would not offer a better deal on 4.
I made quite a good living in retail/wholesale and hard to believe they can make money selling that LED for $1000 w/free shipping.
Someone posted a link in my 1700e forsale thread
That was only a store in Michigan, & they wouldnât ship, I do believe.
You mean this thread?
Wanted 3x gavita pro 1700e or ROI 680 led - Classifieds / Want to Buy - Future4200
I donât see a post about a 1700e for 1k.
Now I do remember the demon posted he got a deal on 3 and said they made too much heat and sold them for around 1k each I think but not positive.
Yeah, dont believe in the riu bioscience. Those put off HEAT!!!
It was actually my for sale thread someone posted a link in.
Is it the new model or old one? They might be trying to dump the old model on you.
They have a CT1930e that they are claiming it be the only 1:1 DE replacement on the market.
Disagree these LEDs wholesale with US certifications out of Chinese factorys for 450 a pop. Shipping from China and to consumer is likely cheaper than 50 each. 90% margins after taxes at 1k
You are comparing shipping LEDs direct from China to the consumer to buying from a Gavita dealer who paid dealer pricing and purchased from Gavita. Apples to oranges.
Before you tell me they are the same lights(they might be)I stick by what I posted that a Gavita dealer cannot make money selling the 1700E for $1,000 shipped. I will guess Gavita dealers pay about $1000 each from Gavita. Now someone about ready to go out of business or someone with credit that plans on stiffing Gavita might sell one for $1,000 but they are not making money.
I started importing portable DVD players w/screens direct from China over 20 years ago so I know a little about importing. Back then you had to wire transfer the money so many not willing to risk losing money you cant get back.
I sent an email to growgeneration asking if they knew which specific osram diodes this light will be using. Here is their reply:
âWe, too, are really excited about this new addition to our lineup. At the moment we donât have much detail available - as soon as we have pricing, specs, and other info we will post it on our site! You are welcome to check back with us anytime.â
spiderfarmer 2000 series and vividgrow work amazing for me, they both have lm301b diodes but the spider farmer has a wider spectrum of diodes. Ive been looking for an led light with IR and UB-B diodes. anyone know of one like that?
Was thinking about using these in/for veg on my next room.
they work great and barely increased my electric bill with 8 spiderfarmers and 4 vividgrow. i went from like 6" tall clone all the way through flower under them. about to chop this week
