That is something that I have noticed. Some distillations have lower vac than others during main body fractions. I know that vac level is dependent of distillation temps but it is strange how it fluctuates. Truth be told it could be my connections, but I have gotten pretty decent at getting a good seal.
Well my mgso4 adding to the flask was yust one of those trow it in the flask and see what happens kinda things
It is @tokesandtinkery that came up with a paper confirming it s potential and a phrase @iontrap said that makes me believe it might be the right thing to do
Waiting on his reply and of @kcalabs findings of compounds created with and without mgso4 in the flask that will give answers to it s valeu
For now it s only a visual aspect of the reaction that I have seen

I am eagerly awaiting the data that iontrap and KCA have. I know that KCA will have contaminate analysis soon and I already bought that test for 2 RXNs now so I am curious to see both contaminants as well as the MgSO4 results. I really appreciate you weighing in on this as I know that you aren’t really in the D8 synthesis rat race so I know its just general knowledge/goodwill that you are providing.

I’m not sure man. Also, I’m not familiar with the SOP you’re referring to that uses a solvent mixture with methanol. Is that the CSA reaction you’ve referenced in other threads? I can only confirm that my attempts using methanol as a solvent early on in my experimentation with isomerization weren’t promising as far as d9 yield was concerned.

After almost 30 years growing indoors my wife has come to dislike a stinky house. My 4 kids also loathe the cannabis plant from having to work our hemp fields. It’s fun like that.
