Hi I am looking to mass produce edibles(gummi). Making from scratch will be a large startup that I can not afford . I’ve seen people doing it with citric acids glycerin sugar cyclodextrin ethanol. Infusing sugar turning it to liquid and spraying or tumbling that Is what I’m shouting
What is the best way to do it for accuracy, efficiency and taste.
I am shooting for a concept where I can use a heated tumbler or spray.
I prefer not to use ethanol. I heard citric acid opens the pores in the gummi and works great.
What are you guys seeing and doing?
Thanks hope to get some useful info!!!
Making gummies from scratch is absolutely dirt cheap. Depends on your customers tho. If you are mass producing and slanging to hood dudes on snapchat I say go for it. If they are quality customers who want a quality product I say spend like 8 hours in the kitchen and bang out 3-5k worth of product. My customers know I make everything from scratch and I don’t think I have lost one yet.
It’s hard to make it from scratch when you want to produce 10,000 units weekly with out investing into a depositor and a special mixer and molds. You’ll be 40k in to start up not evening achieving they 10k weekly mark.
Do you guys know how to get rid of that bad taste some edibles leave behind?
Not all extracts taste the same. Came across one of the best tasting BHO’s I’ve ever run into in OK a week or two back. It was a horrible color (wet solvent) and full of fats (seeded plants, extracted too warm)…it wasn’t good for anything but edibles…but it tasted great!!
I swear I could have made 100mg/ml honey sticks, and you wouldn’t know it was in there till it knocked you on your arse.
The 20mg/ml stuff packed a wallop, and tasted better than the input honey imo
