My bad bro, i just realized I messed up on where I put this comment lmao … it was supposed to be under one of your bodaciouss diamond pictures idk what happened lol…

pH means percent hydrogen(ions), so I’m assuming it’s adding hydrogen ions in pretty significant amounts to lower the pH into the 2-3 range. But you’re not adding an acid, it’s acidifying, which is totally different, sort of. Chemistry is a fickle mistress.

Again I can’t get enough of this site. thanks for dropping the knowledge @Cheebachiefextracts. Probably play around with this later on this week. Also i love the cat and mouse game of trying to figure out @TheWillBilly’s Tek. Thanks again guys for the great read. back at it in the a.m.

No worries, if we all drop knowledge & help like that every now & again the forum would be looking much better these days.

Agreed. I wish i could contribute more. You guys are way ahead of me in terms of experience. So i just post my experiences when i try one of these sops. Or when i piece together something and it works out. But everything i have learned in the past 8 months of extracting has come from this community. From running a short path, extracting, and post processing. Its helped me rediscover my love for chemistry and experimenting. Believe me when i say i am truly thankful for this site and people like you.

I appreciate that! & I’m glad this community had been able to help those who want to learn! It’ll be nice to see your progress further into various teks. :call_me_hand:t3::call_me_hand:t3:

Yeah i try my best not to ask very many questions. Not looking for spoons. Seems like as soon as i think about posting one i stumble into the right search term and find my answer. Just gotta dig sometimes.

Answering this goes back to crystalization basics. Solvent, over time, over temp. I’m not super educated in this but this is just how I understand it. Slower evaporation rates lead to better cleaner stones. Temp cycling can help as well. The largest stones ive ever dealt with are second or third generation. All of this only applies to post extraction. Like any crystalization it is an act of purifying/refining. The more pure and clean a solution is to begin with the better the THCA will crystallize. Cold crashing, seeding, and other helpful processes often work best on a case by case basis. Its been shown here many time by the masters that large THCA crystal formations are achievable without much in the way of cryo. Good in=good out. Best of luck.

You made these diamonds?

yeah he did. He crushes

Try using 2 lids, scrape the sealant out of the top lid, try multiple different brands of bands and lids, I currently use a combination of lids and bands between ball and pur.
Pur has stronger bands, but their seals seem to fail easier…

If it’s all about how much solvent is there, make it like a miner where you control the variables, not the failure of the seal.

How’s that jar treat you when you try to open them

Gets loosie
Edit: better than a single lid, so far they don’t go pop like the single lids …

Not giant boulders, but I think I’m on the right track just need to play with a few more variables. I had a few lids give up early as i was figuring out ball bands are very weak, an pur lids don’t seal well…

its fascinating to learn this stuff hands on!
