Looking for resources

Just acquired an HPLC unit. Obviously won’t be a quick process but can anyone shed some light on resources that I can start to learn more about this?
Looking for all different resources or SOPs.

If you don’t have experience in a lab this is going to be a fun ride. Strap in.

You want to find out your hplc column and look for a cannabinoid assay method, based on the machine you are using.

Maybe your specific device manual is available online somewhere.

Analytical Chemistry is a lifestyle, Zen and the art of Agilent maintenance, etc

To be honest, if you’re totally inexperienced with these devices just contact the manufacturer/regional distributor of that equipment and have them send a tech out to set it up for you and install/teach you how to use the device. They’ll come with all the common tools and spare parts so they should be able to get it up and running within a couple days, and they’ll be able to tell you what tools/spare parts to keep handy, walk you through basic operation and maintenance. It will be a couple thousand dollars, but so is owning and operating an HPLC in general.

The point of an HPLC is to use it for analysis and research because the products of analysis and research can be valuable. It is of no value to needlessly subject yourself to a struggle just to get to the starting line.

Everything you need is in there. Maybe you need someone to interpret it tho?

@DANKENSTEIN, where you at? I know you have at least a few resources to share.

Thank you everyone above for the great resources so far.

I do have someone experienced in the machine coming to give us a crash course and set it up.
I’m trying to get a jump start and make sure we have everything we need and do as much research as I can before we dive in.

I really appreciate the efforts above.

As far as mfg support, Restek has always been incredibly helpful to me. Ton of experience with anyone’s equipment and they’re usually pretty practical

Youtube can teach you anything if you are absorbent enough!

I think you are after standards, methods, and SOPs now, once familiar with the machine itself.

This is a great resource as well. I used to frequent this forum quite a bit back when I was in pharma still and doing a lot of analytical quantification.
