I mean this is not universally true. There are plenty of Chinese mills that produce good steel to AISI/SA specs. I’ve only ever heard of one instance of someone forging an MTR and it was actually an Italian company lol.
Not saying don’t be careful with your mystery stainless labeled as 316L that’s magnetic, just figured it was about to remind people that all chinese steel is not junk steel
100% agreed, China also has plenty of HIGH quality manufacturers. I should have clarified that.
I can also say my work is filled with chinese stainless and some is great and some is well not so great. but the one piece of equipment that gives me the most headache is one of our US built rotary vane vacuum skids. HUUUUUUGE pile of shit. I am certain any chinese made skid would be less troublesome.
