I ended up getting basically a brand new lx900 for $1000 off eBay a month or so ago and love it! Got the reload kit @7000G recommended from the oktopus website. I did mis refill a black ink cartridge which ruined the print head but am using tape now over the air holes of the ink cartridge when refilling to hopefully avoid that from happening again. The one thing I wish is that the ink cartridges were bigger because we print a lot of labels. I also wish I would have gotten a nicer rewinder because the cheapo I got off Amazon pulls to much which causes it to misalign if respooling in-line while printing. Does anyone know if a rewinder with a dancer arm makes a difference so that it doesn’t pull to much to misalign the next print? Or am I setting my cheapo rewinder up incorrectly? The one I have doesn’t have the dancer arm that the higher end ones seem to have.

Also texaslabelprinters just drop ships/resells hickmanlabel.com at a 20% markup.

I use the primera program to print.

I almost tried a cheapo rewinder, sounds like I may have spring for the good one.

I ordered the rw-12 on eBay for like $500 I’ll let you know how it does. I’ve also ordered top and side label applicators from china to hopefully speed up labeling on grams. It costs me roughly .13 cents in labor per 9ml package just to apply the top and side stickers so I’m hoping to cut that down significantly with the label applicators.

good luck with the label applicators. We have not found one that works, well should I say, that works well enough. We like our labels to be straight and same size margins on each side of the box. The labelers we tried would be off 1mm or so either direction and it would look absolutely horrid. So for us it was a no go, same with top lids. Only thing ive found to easily label is round flower jars. Seems the small concentrate jars are hard to automate. Found one company in the states that we might try but they want 50K for the same china labeler, but if they will guarantee that it will fit our tolerances then it will be worth it in the long run.

Damn that sucks to hear about the label applicators. I did get the primera rewinder going and it is the shit! Way better than the cheapo off Amazon that tugged. It seems to be set it and forget it. I can line up a whole roll to print and if there’s enough ink will do the whole thing without me touching it

For the label above i used online labels matte sricker paper and oraguard 215 (gloss).
Ill be going with the oraguard 210 (matte) instead.

I got a canon prograf pro1000 and the quality is amazing.
Im using the new cameo 5 to do the cuts.

Check out the print quality on this thing!!!
