Sorry if this has already been covered but I haven’t been active on the forums for a while. I recently started testing for lead using a test kit from ericeverythinglead on IG. It’s a chemical that reacts with lead to create a semiconductor that glows fluorescent green under UV light. I’ve been testing the things i consume regularly as I’ve been experiencing what aligns with the symptoms of lead poisoning.
I just test some 7oh tablets from various vendors and while it’s difficult to say for certain as some of the tablets already glowed fluorescent green under UV before the soray was applied, but when ground into a powder most show what appears to be a positive result, which would align with the first article that popped up when searching “7oh lead contamination”.
does anyone have any further insight into this? The test kit is mostly just positive or negative, although you can sort of visually notice how bad the contamination is visually by how reactive it is with the chemical in the spray/dropper bottle.
You have any analytical labs you can send samples to that have the standards to do those tests? I would say it’s the only non-anecdotal way to really know if the kit is effective or not and to what degree
from seeing a few hundred kratom leaf and extract metals test, the leaf does have some amount of metals and very very small amounts of lead in it. most likely from the bedrock/ground water in indonesia. But the only metal that seemed to come along for the ride during extraction was copper, and in very small, trace amounts.

The test kit is from ericeverythinglead on IG, he does have everything needed and seems pretty confident in his product. I’ve reached out to him but he hasn’t been active on IG for the past week. You can look into flourospec but he has videos of him using the test then verifying it with an x ray gun.
From what I’ve read it only reacts with lead to create the fluorescent green, however some things glow the same green under the UV without any of the solution applied, so it’s possible that it’s a false positive on the 7. I don’t really care enough to send it to a lab on my dime, and there’s more to the story that I won’t get into the details but it’s possible that the contamination occurred intentionally.
How much did you spend on the test kit? $50
A specific heavy metals test might be something like $95 and actually give you data.

I’m done with kratom before aug 5th so I don’t care, but household items like the top layer of the gatorade powder I was consuming tested positive but not the bottom, or another flavor. A flavor I only opened weeks ago, and handled it the same as the flavor that didn’t react at all. Some spices also tested positive. I also need to have the well water tested, as I was drinking it after running through a tabletop charcoal filter, but I wasn’t aware if the different filter ratings. I’ve already spent $100 on just the at home test kits, with only a few select things showing potential positives.
I’m not constantly handling lead in a manner that would cause that type of contamination, at most it would be on the scoop and other flavor, as the only known source that I handled are lead pellets/slugs, and not on a daily basis, and handled them more when consuming the flavor that had no reaction. The more recently opened flavor was more reactive than a lead bullet, yet looks identical to the rest of the scoop. Am I to send everything suspect in at $100 per test? And what do I do with that data, other than confirm I’ve consumed lead and toss the products, as there’s no way to prove when and where most of the items were contaminated.
That sum is significantly more than $100 and it would be much cheaper to toss suspected contaminated items, as they would be trashed either way if positive, and just get my blood tested to see how much damage has been done, and if other toxins are present. As well as get me a treatment plan if needed.
This all coincides with my appleID, icloud, and WiFi being hacked as well as potential identity theft, which is probably a bigger concern than how much lead is in my kratom that I’ve been tapering off. Im nearly bed ridden at this point and coordination has rapidly declined. Many tools, like Knipex pliers, Milwaukee surge batteries, some smaller power tools , bullets, and even pellets have gone missing just to list a few. I live alone in a rural area, and any attempt at contacting the sheriff has ended in accusations of mental illness, drug use, and even search of my person after bringing up charges from 10 years ago.
All I’m asking here is if anyone else has had kratom test positive for lead, as I know there are some with access to properly test it. I wish it were as simple as spending another $100.

The lead test kit you have is not meant or validated to be used for FOOD products/food powders and it will not give you accurate readings. The test kit is for HOUSEHOLD items like plates, dishes stuff that has surface based lead like paints etc. it’s just not the right tool for the job and there is no way to verify if you are seeing false positive.(without actual analytics)
So again to clarify, Spices, Gatorade powder drink mix are food items/dietary products, not household items.

It’s not meant for food because the water content will interfere with the reaction, giving no reaction, but dry powder is the same as dust and dry soil, in that regard, which it includes soil in its claims of being able to detect.
Eric has demonstrated that it is able to pick up lead in the exhaust from a rifle fired through a set up that sprays the test while illuminating the muzzle flash with UV. It also detects the lead dust left on the rifle when cleaning. If it was a false positive then one would think that all of the powder would show similar false positives, not just the top layer of a single flavor.
also, soil is not a “household item”, so either I need to compost the food items into soil OR he is avoiding any potential lawsuits against brands that are much larger than him.
