Dude! Get ahold of the people at Hot Ones, three YouTube channel/show. They are all about the hot sauce and maybe could be a platform for free advertising… Just give them the hot sauce

That’s on the to do list (part of the 2 year plan). The best thing to do is provide enough for their subscription box. Certainly won’t be free, but I have been wanting my sauces on the show/in ther boxes for a few years now. Getting closer every day. I’ll be harvesting peppers every week (at a minimum) for the rest of the season.

Need my superhots to ripen first. All of what I am currently producing is with store bought peppers for the time being. Hottest I have is habanero, and it’s really not spicy by pepper belly standards. Super flavorful, mildly spicy. My superhot sauces will be rather limited batches, as I only have about a quarter acre of chiles.

That’s why I’m relying on store bought for a majority of the sauces. Don’t want to run out of all my products.

you need to hook up with a pepper farm and stop buying from the middleman

I’ll have my own farms one day. For now, grocery/restaurant supply is my best bet for year round, fresh produce.

they prolly make alot of money selling peppers. how much per lb do they cost? peppers are cheap at teh source. i dont do hot sauce but do mild sauce- i got a bigass bottle of valantina and it was under 2 dollars? I use it on fries i know the fancy hot sauces cost alot more.

Depends on the pepper. Less than a dollar a lb for jalapeños and serranos. Habaneros are around $8/lb. Superhots like ghost pepper and carolina reaper go from about $60-$180/lb (retail). That’s why I need to grow my own superhots for now.

Eventually I plan on having indoor and light assist greenhouses facilities to provide me with out of season produce as well as year round superhots. That’s in the 5-10 year plan.

I need to grow hot peppers.are the superhots low yielding or harder to grow or do you need to be in a clone club to get them? In my mexican market i think fresh peppers average .79 cents but they dont have those hot ones.

I have banana peppers growing. Do those count?
Anaheims and I believe something else too, but putting bananas in the list makes it funnier.

As for growing superhots, in the past my brother had bought some reapers from our local gardening store, as seedlings. Like $4/plant or something. Despite not knowing much about growing peppers, he was able to grow them in a large flowerpot and get them to produce a decent few peppers, enough to dry and grind up to fill a medium spice shaker. A little went a long way with those… But then, none of us are chili heads.

I don’t discriminate among peppers. Those are delicious varieties I use often. That you have any in the garden is awesome!

For a really, really hot sauce, I will need at least one pepper per ounce of hotsauce. It adds up quickly, and I will realistically need 5-10 per ounce to get that real “make you regret it” kind of heat.

Oh great sauce wizard, mind giving me some tips on what to do with the bananas? Ended up truthfully with more than I know what to do. Considering pickling them but need existing mason jars and equipment for cucumbers. Anaheims I can roast and stuff and fry, very versatile.

this is going off topic so you know what i do… I havent had banana peppers, i still remember why. it was 20 years ago and i go to quiznos and they have a pepper bar. But they are out of bananna peppers? I never went to quiznos ever again. I havve a similar food experience with a sope. I got some sopes instead of a burrito and I had a nice orange firebird with a built 455 and did a quarter mileish run on the way home and got pulled over. it left me not ever wanting a sope again. also thats one of the only speeding tickets i ever got. i was over 100 but he wrote it as a few mph over. court let it go since i have a clean driving record . It was this color but a firebird and not a ta

thats how thumper rolls.
