Is this forum a shit show? Mod Edit: Let's improve it as a community šŸ¤™šŸ¼

I second this mostly. The verified consultants need to be better listed to include their skill sets with posted results or something to compare skill levels and client outcomes

Client reviews that are verified. I like it. I hope none of the consultants take offense to this bc I actually like all of them and from what I can tell they are honest and try there hardest to solve client problems in reasoning. This will only help them for more jobs. Every other business has one. Give them a star rating on maybe instead of stars they get 5 weeed leafs

That’s a good idea. Or diamond facets instead. Extraction related?

Good morning!!! I felt I would throw my thoughts into the mix as a new, non-US member of your forum. I would describe myself as a CBD enthusiast, I make my own THC, THC:CBD and CBD vape eliquids but currently have access to great THC distillate but CBD distillate not yet, and would love to switch to using as only have CBD isolate ATM (please can a verified CBD slinger sell me 14g (a 1/2 oz as you yanks call it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:).

My thoughts

Is this forum a shit show?

NO! I have been given an education in the last few days and what you guys are building is EXACTLY what I wanted in terms of CBD knowledge, top work @future . Definitely want to stay around and get ahead of EVERYONE in the UK in CBD post-processing (carts, edibles etc).

Getting a CBD grow permit from the Home Office I hear is near-impossible so many one day…

What are the key issues?

I haven’t been here too long but I am an experienced forum user (who loves discourse, best forum software) it seems:

# Issue Solution
1 People not searching ā€œclogging the forumā€ Have a team of Leaders to organise threads (example below) so any ā€œsameyā€ new threads and moved to end of the mega thread of that topic. This made the forum easier to read and gives an amazing resource you can link to if people ask for info.
2 Hash and Stuff is too big Split for example ā€œpre-processingā€ and ā€œpost-processingā€ maybe? Only this and ā€œCannaBusinessā€ have 50 Topics/week). Someone made the point that there needs to be a dedicated ā€œcarts and tingsā€ category. I may be bias as more what I am into but seems loads of chat on it. Another solution is asking members to add ā€œcartsā€ as a tag to the post so can be found that way
3 The structure of your team The best forums have a good clear structure. The idea of verified consultants is excellent but maybe it could be made clearer who they are, how they became verified and what that means.

I am sure you have made this already and I simply missed it. How many mods to you have and are you currently using Leader/Level 4 members to help keep content organised.
4 More reviews? Hearing members thoughts on products/services is an incredible amount of relevant knowledge we could tap into, not my idea but someone said verified reviews, wow excellent idea!!

1. Moving threads to enable the forum to be more streamline/readable. I am not suggesting do this when a question is different and sometimes needs a new thread.

I find in a moderator capacity that this is a good balance with tell (usually new) members they made a mistake but does not ā€œtell them offā€ which is likely to push a new member away from staying. Hope you get what I am trying to say!! Usually moving the thread with a friendly PM works best.

2. Using tags as an alternative to a new section?

I don’t know how widely tags are used on here but they make a huge difference.

Got a little carried away but overall this forum is ace and what I completely lack in CBD extractions I hope to give back in forum/discourse knowledge, LOVE this software  .

Well done all involved and please disagree with as many of my points as possible, they may be way off and if so I am sorry!!!

I added a discription to the Future4200 group. We won’t be elaborating any more on that side of things here because @sidco has been working on our Consultant Rolodex feature which should hopefully roll out in the next month or so.

You can personally change the settings of how the site is displayed for yourself I believe. As for moderators, this site is free. We don’t make money, we don’t pay a moderator team. Level 4 members have the ability to moderate but they also have real lives. Putting pressure on the community to act appropriately through our flagging system has been the most successful way to accomplish things thus far

Sound great boss, please don’t think I am knocking your ideas as think what have done is great. Just throwing a few ideas about. As forums go this one has some amazing info on to read as CBD extractions seems unheard of in the UK

The verified consultants helps a lot thanks. The new feature sounds interesting, looking forward to it.

Yes, it is set to ā€œLatestā€ as default. You can change by going to Preferences → Interface and then change to ā€œCategoryā€.

I do believe you can change the default to categories to ease navigation for new members :+1:

THIS!!!

It’s all a shit show, but this is one of the better ones by a very long shot.

I definitely see it turning more and more into a sort of pissing match comment section just how IG became

That’s a reflection of the general population imo

I agree. This industry wasn’t built around professionalism. It’s was built on mischiefs, thrillseekers, savages, and good hearted people who all worked mainly in the shadows. People like us are not the 9-5 ones. But it’s going in a better direction as a whole with the way we conduct business. That’s something to be proud of. Nobody should ever expect us to be the perfect poster boys of medicine providers. Frankly I hope it never will be. That will take away the grassroots of how the business was structured. We can always improve but if you want to be professional all the time there are different industries for them.

To be clear, I was and am still a part of the first group and have never been a slave to the 9-5.

My fault. Adhd and quick messaging before closing shop. I didn’t double check my grammar. The you* sussosbe to be they*

If the creators weren’t in the trenches than the other OGs would be networking on closed forums bc this site would be complete trash. Since y’all were it’s a level of respect given.

we haz that!

I kno dis  I just hope the people on those forums have moral obligations when it comes down to safety issues and give the community the better practices. Especially being a chemical engineer such as yourself know the dangers of what we use. Remember the traffic on here isn’t just posters but a lot of people who just reads. You know the west coast hit a drought. People have changed their ways of how to make money and this brought in a bunch of people with no experience in any of this stuff. I I almost forgot thank you for having an employee do a presentation for the senior cultivation group in sebastopol. They are good people.

How is I can help?

I love this place.

Handing out spoons to folks who ask nicely (or appreciate the spork) makes me happy.

Bitching at folks or doing anything that smacks of censorship just doesn’t work for me.

Moderator?
Sure. And then?

We are drowning in repetitive questions. How do we solve that?

I’ve seen we have wiki-fi capability, but I’ve yet to see it used. I’m not sure that serving some of this info on a plater is appropriate…

my solution has been to test for intelligence. I’m not sure that always goes over well.

I’m open to suggestions

II think the biggest reason behind redundant questions is the enormity of some threads. It’s a little easy to get lost in the noise but after a while if someone puts the time in, they can find what they want. Kids these days have shit attention spans too…

off the top of my head:

  • fuzzy matching - add a pre filter before posting a new topic. I see some of the same stuff twice a day. Before a user posts ā€œis this what you’re looking forā€

  • add more moderators that have to approve posts in the cannabiz forum for users that are new.

  • add a wiki or more sticky topics . wiki ordered and referenced would be amazing

  • create a code of conduct to have a clear cut reason to ban assholes

  • use something to ban spammy subnets

Hey, I’m an asshole, please dont ban me. How about a super-asshole ban vs a normal asshole ban.

Lol
