Hey, Fam!
I want your opinion on something! I am having a discussion with someone who is claiming that they can sell 2k-3k kilos of CBD Distillate [Roughly 80% CBD] a week. I am not so sure that the industry can support this long term. They are claiming that people want it for all kinds of things including D8 conversions; I am not sure how much demand that there will be for that either. What do you think? Is the industry dead? Let’s talk about it!
I’d process it all into d9 conversions and turn all that into hemp derived ccells with cannabis derived terpenes re introduced. It really depends on if your setting on this amount of cbd or if your planning to produce it. Where the market stands now I’d go for it but where it’ll stand in 5-6 months I have no idea tbh.
CBD will always have demand, but… The price. Not so much.
Hemp and its derivatives have been reduced too agricultural commodities. Shits cheaper then dirt and is only going to get cheaper.
cheers
Agreed, oh how the mighty have fallen. Unless you have already scaled up, paid off your equipment, and have minimal overhead, It is a bit too late to start slinging kgs and expect to roll in the dough.
I like the free hash perk.
No much bio out there. Should be interesting come 2024
I see plenty of THCA hemp
I still see hemp labs opening regularly. Even some of the “scaled” operations are not at all efficient so I don’t think it’s completely blocked off for new people. Not great though, that’s for sure.
Hemp biz has its flaws like everything else does. I agree that with the shortage of biomass, prices of crude will probably climb a little, but not enough to make a huge difference overall.
To the OP, yes there are many who move thousands of kgs weekly. Its a thing
According to the state inspector that came here a few weeks ago, there’s a small resurgence in cannabinoid producers this year but a good push towards hempcrete and fiber production at least in my state.
Do you think that there is enough biomass out there to keep things steady through next year? I know quite a few farms that sold everything.
I’d love to get involved with hemp based materials development.
paints, plasticizers, lacquer, adhesives, tape, hempcrete, fuel
This. Was just about to say “quit focusing on cannabinoids with hemp and start rebuilding the American hemp empire we used to be.”
You guys wanna make America great again? Stop farming just for CBD and converting it.
@ShuckleBerryFinn if you know anyone in the hemp materials game that need employees, let me know.
Phytoremediation with hemp sounds promising too. It’s been brought up in that “DDT in the soil in WA” thread. Super curious about hemps performance in that regard, and utilizing the fibers for construction materials afterward so that nobody ends up smoking DDT contaminated CBD. Question is, would latent pesticide in the construction material pose detrimental long-term affects on the residents health?
Will Do!
I think itll be tight until farms in South America and Mexico export their biomass to US. Thats still kinda iffy atm.
Also theres extraction labs being built down there that will be able to match or exceed scale sized facilities.
its dead, the weed industry itself has become stretched so thin these days. but it beats working the local factory so here we are. luckily half the country is still not legalized and we still have a few years left before the entire pricing structure collapses.
Nah it’s the rise of the powder gang!
White powder and rocks for everyone!
Its definitely not dead. its consolidating. Theres D8/9 Carts in most gas stations and smokeshops in the country. Id say its very alive.
