I’ve been doing some R&D on hot chocolate bombs at work and finally feel comfortable releasing these along with my notes
My plans were to do a small run of 12 bombs at 50mg and 12 at 100mg
I started with some distillate that came back at 85.2% thc
1800mg needed in my emulsion so I used 2.11 grams at the conversion of 852mg per gram.
I added the 2.11 to 19.89 grams of MCT which I sonicated at 148f for 5 minutes
I added my emulsion to 50 grams of tapioca maltodextrin, mixed well by hand before throwing it in the ninja for further processing and sifted the finished product through a strainer.
With a total mass of 72 grams I figured I should 25mg per gram of my powdered mixture.
So I tempered my chocolate and coated my molds once before cooling and coating again. They popped out like a charm
Each bomb got 2tbsp of hot cocoa mix with 2 grams of my powdered emulsion for a targeted goal of 50mg per bomb.
Made a total of 12 bombs so far, 4 are going in for testing tomorrow and me and my co workers each took one home for our own personal testing.
Reception has been great so far, no distillate taste or seperation, plus the hot chocolate tasted great!
Thought I’d share my experience on here. I don’t share as much of my work as I’d like due to my own anxiety but I’m working on that.
