Indofabs C.R.C & BHO Color Remediation Tek

Yes
I just did this Yesterday. I bought a pro filter and 6” column from @Soxhlet. I use a hot loop to push solvent. I didn’t get water clear on this my first crc run but damn looking good.

What’s in it?

I froze the miner and it crumbled up a bit as I poured in. Don’t know why I froze my miner first but I did? I never froze it before. Hope there is no water issues.

That looks good :sunglasses::ok_hand: can you short explain me the hot loop push? Sorry for the stupid question but I do not know all the technical terms yet. And is that no problem if the filter media is directly on the bottom of the dewax / material collumn because of the cold temperature and soaking time? I’ve seen most use separate material, dewax and crc columns with valves between.

If you run warm. You can use hot vapors either from your tank, another tank, or your collection pot (if active). You use those vapors to add pressure to your column to push out whats stuck

I run a crc setup with a 1.5x12 spool, I also pack my powders at the bottom of my material spool. Usually it takes about 50psi to push through the powders with a spool that small though.

Harvested 3 small jars of the personal dozen I poured the other night. They were done by day 4. Pulled just over 100g of thca crystals and all 3 jars terp fraction/mother liquor I combined into one jar to further crash what’s left and then I’ll harvest the terp fraction. I need to slow things down and speed em up at the same time. I’m pretty sure I know what parameters I need to play with to dial my tech in with bigger stones and finished in 3 days. I thank the remediation tech for being able to do this in the manner I wanted

The last 8mo have been absolutely nuts. I have gone harder than the last 4 seasons combined it feels like. I’ve out grown the last 2 spots in no time and now I hunt for the third and final. Somewhere to go legal at. As well as build my home. I have one month left. And then 7 more to build out and be ready to inspect or licensed and running by first round of deps. Coming into the shop today has hit home. I still look around in awe. My inbox stays busy with everything from work, to job offers, to consultation gigs, to tech questions, to lab collabs. 4 and half years ago I got off a bus with 2 back packs and not 2.dimes left to rub together not knowing one single person or what the fuck I was doing. I was just chasing a dream. And now we’re here.

This! I was very skeptical of running the size we do. Now, I wouldn’t go any smaller…

@MonsterInc Well done man! I think this year has changed a lot of people’s lives. Mine included.

@TheMadDabber What size filter are you running? Are you getting a fast flow rate, similar to before CRC?

I run a 4" CRC on 6" wide columns and I’m building a new system to use 8" wide columns so I’m thinking about using a 6 or 8" CRC.

I had an idea to run multiple columns into a collection quickly without a CRC, reduce to the proper dilution ratio and then use a diptube or bottom drain valve to run the entire batch over a CRC column.

For very large batches or crude this might be a viable method to try.

If you guys are getting proper flow like we used to before CRC with these wider columns I might just stick with running each column through the CRC individually.

If I have 4x 6x48” material columns, will 1x 6x24” CRC column be enough to not slow down the flow?

100% go bigger

monster can you elaborate on flooding your crc properly?

Once you have solvent dripping into your collection tank immediately valve off between collection and crc. Then bump your tank pressure up pushing your solvent completely flooding your column and crc. I just watch my tank scale and when it stops I kick my tank up a couple more psi. Wait a few seconds then beginning dumping and rinsing.

do you use n assist

Gotta. I ditched my cmeps a while ago and went passive and built a completely jacketed system. N2 is a must with the way I run,

@MonsterInc do you weigh your powders before and after you run 6 6X48’s through the 6X14 filter?

I’m curious about yield loss percentages even though you’ve said its minimal. The loss I experience seems to be highly related to the amount of silica I use. In order to keep the silica layer the same thickness in a wider filter I would need way more silica, which I’m afraid might equal more yield loss percentage.

Is there anyway you are willing to post a vid of the flowrate into your collection from the 6" CRC?

I would very much like to see it flowing at a similar rate as no CRC like you’ve said. My 4" filter is definitely slow, I’m wondering if stepping up to 6" really is as huge of a difference as you’re saying. I’m using about 60-70 PSI to push right now.

This pic of your system is a little hard to see, but is that the CRC to the right of the columns?

Thanks for all your help so far!

How big is your system? What chillers do you use?
