i was thinking the same thing about the press…that thing looks awesome. i need to work on a few things like that for my setup…while i think my 80s coke press will work…i need to find something to press in my powders flat.

Significantly lighter than yesterday’s. The fats first coming through were white, not like the ones yesterday being darker.

If I had it mounted and an even plate to press media down with. It would work perfectly. Having the disk with the paper underneath disturbes the top layer when I take it off

Clay and magsil on left. Silica and celite on the right. I could probably use more of each.

I want to not put in a paper on my top plate and fill the empty space in the second one with more stuff to give me more volume for media.

They all grabbed a considerable amount of color. The clay on top took a whole bunch of it

Yeah I’m wondering now if achromstizing clay is any different than the t5.

Was it already brownish when you packed it or did it pick up that chocolate ice cream color.

It was beige. Didn’t come that dark. It’s pretty much the same thing, same ph

So it’s really looking like silica gel combined with bentonite clay are the winners. I forget, can silica gel be used with ethanol?
