IceCreamTek

Unfortunately I’ve never seen one in person. I need to come visit some lab and have a tour. Honestly I’ve never even been in an extraction lab ever. Ive just done my own thing for the last 15 years

So this is a single pass through celite 545, silica, t5 and carbon. The jar on the left is bleached the jar on the right is not

Also when I run it through the buchner funnel, I do it outside far away from anything, the apparatus is surrounded with dry ice to the top. I’m just cleaning my glass right now to prepare everything.

I do use only a single solvent (tane) and use a hand pump.

I also wear a static discharge cord on my ankle and Fire retardant clothing.

Hardware Factory Store has .5um plate filters

The owner of Paragon extracts in oklahoma told me they make a pressurize filter, which I apparently can push instead of sucking through. He highly suggested it, but I’ve looked and looked endlessly online and can’t find anything about such a system, and it’s not a column attached to a closed loop. But it doesn’t matter, I’ll have what need asap. That’s the primary reason I’m here.

But what I do now, works perfect for my needs. I just have to take 10 steps unfortunately, when with the right system it would be like 3 lol

Ice cream tek lol

This is some of the scariest sounding shit I’ve heard in a while. Every time you squeeze that pump, you’re tempting fate. I can’t condone open air funnel filtering of tane. I understand the theory and all, but damn, that’s kinda really dumb.

Even if you were getting vac from an air aspirator or water aspirator, there’s going to be some vapors coming out of that funnel. Air will move, even if you think it isn’t. So many things can build static and accidents happen.

You’re running all those tables at the grow show, you should be able to afford to buy you a closed loop and a crc so you don’t give the local firemen and emt’s nightmares when your funnel turns into fireworks.

Lol who said I couldn’t afford anything? I mean, I’ve only been doing it everyday for a minute.

I completely understand your worries, but I have home insurance.

Please explain how if I am working at -40C temps where the gas will come from? No spark, no static ran cold.

Man y’all new guys get so scared over nothing.

15 years now, not one problem ever!! Been doing greywolf’s thermos tek for years!!

I get it, yall are stupid scared of oxygen.

I’ve been trying to get a custom build system for a minute, but I’m trying to design it myself.

I have a extension back ground as a hydrostatic pressure tester in the oilfield testing pressures up to 16k psi!!! With all types of gasses.

I think I understand hydrocarbons, just a lil bit

I’m not scared. I know firsthand what it’s all about to have an open container of liquid butane. I’ve seen what invisible vapors can do. Fuckers are sneaky, and cold or not, liquid butane likes to become a gas. That layer of atmosphere on top of your pool of tane is warm enough to evaporate some of the liquid.

I’ve seen a cloud of gas ignite 20 yards away that shouldn’t have been there. I’ll be damned if I know the source of ignition, could have been fire ants for all I know. Luckily it wasn’t by a house or person, but was still totally unexpected.

You do you, but you might maybe do it longer if you stopped vac filtering tane. You aren’t the only person here that has done thermos tek with butane. That’s great you’ve worked in the hydrocarbon field for years. Still doen’t make butane in a buchner safe. Not saying you WILL blow yourself up, just way more likely.

You just said this scariest shit ever. Then say it’s not scared.

I came here to talk to killa about getting a system. I understand the dangers, but at the same time I’m not off gassing in my mom’s kitchen on a gas stove

And not only that, hell the super saturated mother solution is as thick as you would pour in jars to mine diamonds anyways.
