when I use my volcano vaporizer i put my weed inside and set it at 180C
it vaporize THC at 180C
why do you guys on this forum says THC boils at 425C if there’s no vacuum? It vapes at 180C, that’s what every vaporizer uses.

it vaporizes THC at 180C with no vacuum needed
why?
Read up on vapor pressure and the Boltzmann distribution.
Evaporation (surface-level process) vs. Boiling (bulk process)
Vaporization is a combination of evaporation and boiling.
Evaporation is a slower surface-level form of vaporization, only occurring at temps below the boiling point.
Shmantics
That’s at .05 Torr, not at atmospheric pressure.

Are you one of those Reddit regards I’ve been sending here?
Good job, bro.
Either way the wikipedia answer there is way closer than what he was saying
The atmospheric boiling point of THC is approximately 425–429°C. It begins to evaporate at around 157°C.
Vaporization, boiling, boiling points, and evaporation—resolving common misconceptions
Thank you @WhereAreTheStones!
How about; because vapor pressure is non-zero?
There is no practical direct way of measuring the temperature at which the vapor pressures of THC and CBD reach normal room pressure (about 760 torr), since at such elevated temperatures, these cannabinoids are instable and decompose. The normal boiling points can, however, be estimated by extrapolating vapor pressure at lower temperatures, using the Clausius–Clapeyron equation. For example, the vapor pressures of THC at 155°C and 190°C are about 0.05 torr and 0.3 torr, respectively, leading to boiling points higher than 400°C, in agreement with the results of McClements, Umnahanant et al., and Lovestead and Bruno.38–40
Does ALL the THC vaporize? (No, see below)
Is the THC boiling? (Again no).
Are you planning to forgo your vacuum pump and do all your cannabinoid distillation in a volcano from now on?
Lanz et al.46 have compared vaporization of cannabis in five commercial vaporizers, all of which were operated at 210°C for 3 min. Vaporization extent was 55–83% for THC and 46–70% for CBD.
these neutral cannabinoids evaporate at a rate dependent on the operating temperature. Here, 34% and 50% of the THC evaporate within 20 and 40 sec, respectively, at 220°C, but only 10% and 20%, respectively, at 180°C, which is in good agreement with the corresponding vapor pressures. According to the Clausius–Clapeyron equation, compared with vaping at 160°C, the evaporation rate of THC at 180°C, 200°C, and 220°C are about 3 times, 8.4 times, and 19.4 times greater, that is, increasing by a factor of nearly 3 per 20°C of temperature elevation. Extrapolating the results in Table 6 shows that, at the conditions used here, at 180°C, more than 3 min are required for approaching complete evaporation of the THC.
“how come my glass of water sitting on the table (25C) disappeared after sitting out for a month? You guys told me the boiling point of water is 100C?”
The number of people who fail to grasp this concept is honestly alarming.
table is in a heliium balloon in the stratosphere ? Enjoy the view
How do these people find this forum? This is a Quora quality question….
I’ve been sending regards from Reddit here for months, the regards are coming, don’t worry.

Jaze10: I don’t know where you live, but. If you lived up North a bit, you would know that if your mom hung wet clothes in the winter time, on the line outside, they freeze solid and dry out. ? What’s up with that? But if you are in Bali, and a Sunny day at 90 F, and you hang wet clothes out on the line…all day in the sun, they are as wet as you hung them 8 hrs later. HMM…
