Who are you asking?? and no miners arent hooked up to a closed loop. they are usually poured into and then kept separate from the closed loop.
It is a closed loop if youāre doing it right.
I meant is it the collection vessel?like connected to the closed loop? I donāt see how they trap the butane/propane and collect it againā¦
Iām just curiousā¦ I be smashing rosinā¦ but I like fresh frozen batters and saucy bho a lot alsoā¦
Most donāt. That is the right way to do it thoughā¦
Majority of solvent is removed before going into the miner.
The off gassing required to maintain saturation as solute crystallizes is relatively minor
a secondary miner under vacuum is a great way to recover the burped solvent. but again its a pretty minimal amount of solvent left, sometimes its just the terps you are burping off.
I put together a little automation package for a diamond miner. I tested it through last week and it did a great job of controlling temperature and pressure, or using evaporative cooling to bring it down to a target temperature. Tonight, I set up a jar next to the miner that connects the two through vapor ports. Iām currently recording the progress remotely through a wyzecam.
The jar/miner is set up to maintain a pressure of 7 psi. This keeps the oil temperature around 67f. The frequency of venting will be dependent on the temperature of the room. Iām collecting the data and a time-lapse of the process to monitor evaporation and crystallization rates.
Next week, I will be installing load cells that will allow me to evaporate a chosen amount of solvent over a chosen period of time, while controlling temperature and pressure inside the miner.
That looks sketchy!
@ highestzen keep us postedā¦
Does the jar leak a. Bit ā¦on purpose?constantlyā¦or is the video clip just coming to equilibrium?
Or you have a controlled pressure relief on miner and the two are connected?
Heās using the mechanical prv to control pressure in the jar. I think he got to 14 psi and still held
wait you plugged in your jar to the computer?
Itās got electrolytes
Gebius!
With appreciation and gratitude for this community and forum, thanks for all the nuggets left to mine . We built this out of some spare parts around lab, big thank you to my partners for letting me play with the parts and backing me with a pour out to test it.
currently using N B Oler diamond miners and trying to dial in the process.
this thread was a great read.
thanks for the bump, @ConorKilroe , and nice work on those facets.
Very nice. Beautiful work
Five starsā¦*****
Da kine
you should go to @Dred_pirate BHO class in June iām sure heāll cover diamond miners
@Sidco_Cat
Hey Cat, this link doesnāt seem to work anymore, do you still have access to it?
Here ya go buddy
I love this community! @SubstituteCreature to the rescue!
