Fridge.
All cannabis is a perishable. I try and store biomass in freezer and extracts in fridge.
Distillate should be stored in a dark place at room temp. Remove O2 from the storage vessel via vacuum or inert gas.
Why room temp over a chest freezer?
I would say a freezer would be better b.c. it will offer a constant temp not the fluctuating temp of a room especially one with equipment running in it. As well your freezer is nice and dark.
I’ve seen faster oxidation rates at below freezing temps compared to room temps.
Interesting. Ive seen the opposite. Regarding CBD distillate and crude
I was referring to THC distillate. That’s interesting. Are you storing at atmosphere?
Wine fridge keeps the humidity out. Best option for shatter sauce or anything really
I always either vac the jars or backfill with argon
Vac seal jars
In dark cool basement
I wish my lab would shell out the cash for Argon lol. Interesting though, wish I could get my hands on some CBD disty to compare side by side.
Argon is cheap as hell
so is my lab
I back filled with nitrogen… wine fridges are the best. Hold that at around 55-61F
For live resin, I like a cool dark place with minimal oxygen. I think fridge or freezer is cool for long term, but every time you take it out you risk condensation and temp swings.
I have a table top fridge I keep ‘bulk’ head stash in, then a jar with a couple gs on the desk next to the rig. I let my jars sit out and get to room temp when it’s time to refill the small jar
So not too cold with mind for reduced condensation if you’re pulling out of main jar?
I keep it at them temps to prolong the shelf life and preserve the Terps better than at normal room temp. Moisture can be introduced in freezers and regular below 40f fridges. Nitrogen helps with oxidation issues.
Fridge away from incident light
