I’m using the pure-flo 6000 and I seem to be getting oil that lacks terps and also doesn’t pack the punch I’m used too. Also seem to be getting low yield. Material is pretty fresh also so I’m just looking for some feedback on possible solutions
Haven’t worked with that particular media. Material to gas ratio, how much media are you using? List all the specifics of your run and system.
This stuff comes pretty moist from manufacturer. I use this as my primary bentonite in CRC, I really like it. It does not like moist material that is being ran cold (below 0 deg C). Have you tried RT solvent runs with it? have you done a higher ratio of solvent to biomass during runs? do you experience slow runs or clogs and do you use any other medias in line or stacked?
These questions come from the fact that you say the material is pretty fresh. I use this media primarily for the dusty dry gross trim that is on the edge of being considered for crude; No clogs. Get “that fire indoor that just came down last week” and i’m guaranteed to have clogs and run issues.
If you dont need heavy filtration people seem to be having good results with a more granular media like CRX for instance. If you require a heavier color remediation people are having better results IMO from a finer clay like t-5, b-80, w1
I mix the 2 types I put the granular clay under my dewax and then i send it to the CRC packed with the finer clay
Oil turns out great on the smell and color but absolutely lacks flavor
@FicklePickle
Are you saying the terps get bound up in the filter media or they are getting like scrambled or destroyed or something?
Are there some terps that get bound up/destroyed easier or at a higher rate than other terps?
I too have noticed something similar. It kinda wiped the terp pallet clean. It’s got a ph of 2.5 which I figured had something to do with it.
I ran 10 pounds of solvent to 1 lb of material
I apologize let me elaborate a bit. The material is fresh BUT it is the darker part of our harvest that was affected by the fires. Lack of watering basically. Also using 10 pounds per 1 pound of material
How many lbs per run of material
1lb and 2oz per run currently in a standard closed loop. Filter media is loaded into the material column with filters.
What clays do you have at disposal besides the pureflo? & are you baking media prior to loading into Crc?
You have more than enough solvent per lb, what temps are you running from injection to recovery?
Have you considered analytics rather than organoleptics?
If you know your input and output potencies, it’s much easier to know when you’re getting the goods stuck in the magic dirt.
Washing the dirt is also a decent thing to try.
I have celite 545 and activated charcoal along with some other color bleach from BVV. And I didn’t know about baking media. I do now so thank you I just read up on how and why it’s important.
Grab silica & t5 along side them, you’ll enjoy the mixes you can blend to achieve high profile with great color. I’ve helped many dial in their color tek while retaining yields & over all terp profile as well.
Awesome. for those reading along at home;
…when playing with absorption, knowing what is already absorbed to the magic dirt is arguably rather important…especially when it is something like water that can adversely affect product quality.
whether all powders need to baked under vacuum before use is perhaps an open question. I mostly treat it as a faith based (religious) ritual…the wizard said it was necessary. it worked. so now it is set in stone (or at least codified in the SOP).
W1, no funky terps, acidic, great color, cool dude (@Waxplug1)
Shameless plugging I love it lol

Oh shit I didn’t even know, I’m all for that!
