The root of the argument here is you want to edit your posts whenever you want yourself. What is stopping users from abusing this, as weāve seen in the past? If users were forced to give a reason, what reasons would be valid for you and would there be any invalid ones?
Manually controlling trust levels is often brought up, and probably the only actual solution for this, I just really want to steer away from that unless itās a slap on the wrist kind of thing, due to its automatic nature. The more we mess with it the less it works.

No, sorry. Being democratic means voting on stuff that effects the community. I donāt think all thinks should come to a vote but it Someone put up a poll and it hits a certain number. Maybe itās time to consider it. Rather just be one of the community like all of us and say itās choas.

Do you understand the difference between direct democracy and a democratic republic? Make some rules about it. Is it a 50% or more and it wins situation? Should we require a poll from at least x% of lvl2/3/4 or the forum as a whole. How do you not see the glaring downsides to letting 50% rule, especially on an anon internet forum?

I can be convinced to trust polls again, but even the one in OP is disingenuous. It lumped two separate issues together (self editing posts, and calling tl3) and the vote is for āmore rightsā. OP also doesnāt explain the pros and cons or each decision and has been proven in this thread does not understand the trust level system.
Iām just asking to make it fair.

There must be something lost in translation here. I send you DM requesting the links of the posts to which you are referring. I dont know what this has to do with making a new account for business or personal use so I am thinking one of us misunderstood each other. That is often my response to people wanting to delete posts that contain info from a past business. If you are here as a business entity and are shilling company wares, you are already not private. Still, not the same as accidentally posting pictures of your wife or whatever which weāll handle.
Are you asking TL3 to be able to edit anyones posts indefinitely or just their own? What was your answer to
p.s. everyone already has 1 day to edit posts, so the second option should read (nothing changes). One option should probably always be (nothing changes)

Just make a new post, if something is really wrong, dangerous, etc, we can put a little staff notice or something. Information is always changing and people reading a forum should understand this and get to the bottom of thread before trying something, right? A wiki is the answer to this.
Legal reasons
I see this happening, like the d8 stuff. People want their accounts wiped because of some retroactive cancellation. I often deny these requests, and account deletions. Not because I want to see people in trouble, but because its a public forum. I donāt even like the sales here and thats like 99% of the requests.

The only option I have is changing everyones edit window or tl2+.
I donāt exactly see the difference in letting only tl3 do it, you would think that means less abuse, but per capita I bet its equal to tl1s even. Also, how long after 1 day? There is also a limit on how many edits you get a day but I turned that way up since the revision history is stored after 20 seconds or if a lot of text is changed.
Ha @pdxcanna id probably leave it up out of spite and laugh as you openly host malware from your domain.
