Has anyone ever carted crude

What materials are used for the seals in that part of the CF?

I had similar issues with crude / high terp concentrations when trying to do R&D with a push/pull type system. Couldn’t figure it out and eventually gave up and went mechanical / ceramic, but still have my notes to reference.

it wasnt the terps that blew out literal welds. That was intense pressure.

Gotcha. It was a bit hard to tell from the pics / description.

That’s some nasty stuff to pump =)

I meant decarb under pressure to prevent terp degradation (:

The decarbed in the guns to save time and preserve color :joy:  (I would have warned the against carting crude)

People b doing it, especially w bho

I’ve also carted bho, and the worst I’ve seen is nozzle leaks with long residence. This is something else entirely. It popped a welded fitting out of it’s socket.

Could it be high in residual solvents, therefore creating additional pressure ( on top of the pressure from the decarb)?

I haven’t messed with etoh, so I’m not familiar with its bp, or what kind of pressure may build during it’s off gassing…

I still think it might’ve cooled too much in the fitting and shortly built up enough of a blockage that when the customer applied their hardest grip was enough to pop it. I don’t see decarbing alone building that much pressure in an open system.

I think this is it…

It can’t be solvents, cause they said they purge out all the ethanol in their vac oven.

id ask about their vac oven sop. That sounds fishy

Take one at home, plug the system, have a heavy handed buddy squeeze that bitch with all his might, and watch it come apart. :man_shrugging:

Shouldn’t the glass fail first? It is unsupported

It’s kinda a small diameter cylinder, which will give it quite a bit of pressure resistance. Looking at the pictures again closely the blockage is almost guaranteed to be in the needle from cooling. Maybe they let it all set for a minute between trays or capping or some shit…

or maybe the crude isn’t clean enough and putting a screen or paper in the reservoir could clean it up…

but for whatever reason the resistance at the needle and resistance at the fitting allowed a very strong person to apply so much pressure the weld ended up being the weakest link. A strong person can have grip strengths above 60psi.

That makes sense… the cf50 is the only model that doesn’t have dispenser heating

Is decarbing necessary? Does the vaporization at the coil not decarb when a drag is pulled? Or is it noth thorough enough of a decarb?

I put a variety of stuff in here

It can be a pita to change how fast/slow it heats when changing consistencies, but the battle is half the knowing and its worth it. From Deems, to diamondss.

Looks like it could use a new o-ring

How do the ascent ceramics handle decarbed bho?
