Has anybody ever thought of using butane to chill butane?

I have a braised play heat exchanger that I was thinking of chilling with butane on my closed loop by using cold butane pushing through the back side and warm butane in the side to be chilled. I happen to come across this very interesting article about it as well.

yes, just “recover” your plateex with a recovery pump, reject the heat put that outlet through a needle valve back into your plate exchanger.

butane will get you to near 0c, propane will get you down towards -40c depending on pressure.
