H2O2 shown as probable cause of rapid crashing "Medusa Stone"

It’s definitely something in the gas. I haven’t had a single issue until recently (oxarc)
, I actually have 2 stock tanks that react differently, they even distill from the tank to my system differently, one is fast like a propane mix, one is significantly slower…
The fast one starts boiling at room temp during distillation, then you can literally hear it take off as the reaction occurs and it speeds up, until it finally cools down…

mine was off here/ebay. I forgot which supplier but ive done multiple runs with it but this was the first diamond run. It was butane but ive added my own extra mixed tank.

I haven’t ran diamonds yet with this gas, but after reading these threads and seeing what my shatter does, I’m pretty convinced I’m getting into the same issue everyone else is having…

my shatter this run was a bit sticky= my pump is not functioning optimally. Its old and harbor freight. but it was also fresh payton so terpy. i think its fine.

The only new impurities I see in test results is methanol in super small concentrations…

I just wanna make sure- this issue is visual? I dont mind, nobody near me has seen a giant diamond or will pay extra for one so this small diamonds is ok to me.

My personal issue is with shatter, its acting differently than it has in my time making shatter, which it’s essentially the majority of what I make…

Pics? Try melting the slab at up to 117 f until it goes completely transparent, then pull vac after you melt it down.

It melted down after 4 hours at 97. .

This is finished, but it was very interesting an messy every flip untill I melted it.
This is before the melt, it had got significantly more manageable by this point at day 3.

I have a video I can find of one on day 3 and it crackles like pop rocks as it cools, lemme find it.

10k CFU will pop a fail for yeast/mold. Almost every single one of them is a shitty PCR count. Dosent matter if they are nonviable or viable spores the PCR is counting them.

Everyone is failing mold tests without ozone generation. Guranteed. I fucking cultured 100k+ CFU off a fucking pay phone in highschool, you don’t even Wana know the fucking water fountain.

It’s getting harder to ignore then ozone generation side of this…

So now it’s just a question of what they’re doing different at these plants. I imagine a couple corners get cut when the demand for hydrocarbons explodes over a few years

Now I’m thinking about the time our supplier sent us tanks that stunk our entire lab up for a week and ruined 500g of extract with mercaptan… and then tried to convince us it didn’t stink and we were crazy.

Not sure if it was the Medusa curse, but this is how we dealt with a weird contaminant fucking with our diamonds. Boiling off room temp looked fine, but it would start to sugar before the ratios were right… Popped em in cryo, thca cold crashes, but… the butane had this cloudy, swirly shit in it which we cold filtered out with coffee filters. After a couple filtering sessions, the butane was a nice clear amber, and from there they grew some real beauties.

I isolated the contaminant and it was this white, translucent solid that got greasy at about 95f. Kept happening, even after repeated deep cleanings, butane distillations, etc. We figured it must be something with the flower, maybe some hormone or spray or something. Never figured it out, just had to change our SOP for diamonds

this was 70mg of the “white contaminant” we collected in the 0.2um filter on the way to our collection dissolved (then not) in 40ml of home despot “denatured alcohol” (sample was intended for GC. there is ALSO methyl stearate in there).

What the flocc is happening?!?

The substance does not dissolve in room temp ethanol, but if the ethanol is heated (66.6 degrees C) it goes into solution pretty quickly.

When the solution is removed from heat, it begins to crash out almost immediately. Those videos are a hyperlapse of 20 minutes, and it appears most everything has crashed out within the first ten minutes.

That looks almost exactly like what we had going on. Same dispersion and shimmer, give or take variables introduced with terpy butane.

Forgot to mention it also made it’s way through winterization, distillation, and decarb, into our d9 disty. Made it look “chunkier”, like sugar was crashing out, but evenly distributed in fully decarbed distillate. At first, we assumed incomplete decarb, but after cooking it again and cooling, same thing happened.

So maybe winterization temps aren’t cold enough to filter it? Or ethanol affects it differently? I wasn’t really involved in our disty issue, so I can’t speak on that too much. but for butane runs it looks like it can be mostly filtered out.
Pour for diamonds → throw in cryo → cold filter out → boil off/recover → make whatever

Most was crashed out within 5 minutes, and it was more or less done within 10. Damn my phone takes good videos! Haha

Lubricant in the tanks?

That was actually beautiful to watch

Now I kinda want to see a bunch of time lapse video of thca crashing out

Lubricant?

White solid?!?

Is there a time lapse option on most phones nowadays or is that gonna be a sought after application?? I wanna see if I can get some going…
