Guess the smell?!

Hi everyone!

Being from EU and been smoking “Cali Exotics” for many years now
Say maybe 8 year and I have been noticing something lately.
Its like the last years every flower from North America has the same smell don’t matter the strain. The “better quality” flower have a stronger smell and the lower quality has weaker smell. But the smell is all the same :face_with_monocle::man_shrugging:

Then you are probably smoking bottom of the barrel indoor packs that are not actually from Cali

Might be Gelato getting bred into everything. Growers love it because it finishes early

How would that explain different strains having same smell :man_shrugging:

Because they aren’t actually different strains.

They are different strains for sure you can tell by appearance. Completely different.
This would be a better guess I think. Because the smell definitely have you thinking gelato

Europe is the botom of the barrel !!!
What we classifie as cali AAA
Is considered in cali as A at best
Some local growers make AAA cali strains but the mass of what’s beeing imported is hard to sell in the USA
And Canada
Folks should realize that shipping AAA flower illegally from the USA and selling in Europe at 2800€/3600€ is not a busniss model
What’s beeing shipped is 300/600$ light dept
Shipments of sever tons kg are common and sourcing those in 1 specific strain grown indoor is a hoax

Because they’re all grown in exactly the same conditions with (probably) no regard for the nose on the final product.

It takes a lot of work to grow weed with a completely unique nose that you would notice between strains. It simply is not profitable for people to ship that product to you overseas. You are getting ripped off by marketing lol

Totally true :100:
Just looking at the prices will tell you enough.
I know shit isn’t triple A. It used to be for a couple of years but the wholesale prices where way higher back than.
But the topic is the smell guys not wether it’s top shelf or not

Smell is one of the qualities that makes something “top shelf” so yes, we are.

This guy is annoying. Not helping at all
Like I said the stronger the smell the better the quality we all know that. But the smell is all the same smell for all the strains. Minimum differences

As @Shrimp stated
Large growers grow for volume
The use of same nutrients and equipment under almost same circumstances kills the variety of flavors
As well as strain manipulation in naming
There is an interesting paper where
A genetic databank is composed with a result of 1300 genetically diffrent strains
Out off 33000 difrent named strains
I ll try to find and post it

I can spray CDTs on some brick weed and it will smell “Stronger”

Does that make it better quality?

Childish reply

It s a pretty sharp short cut to say smell is quality
Polyploids of cannabis produce up to 4% more terpene content yet in a unbalanced way that does not favor the flavor they stink like a mother but they are a unpleasant smoke

That sounds like a very interesting study, hope you can find it

Y’all being same ant fuckers today. Offcourse given that the rest is completely the same and you have sample A with strong smell and sample B with weak smell

Someone’s Maddd at the science

(now that was childish)

Years back in the Netherlands
PK 13/14 was introduced as a flower/ bud enhancer making the buds denser
Everybody jumped on this nutrient
6 months later people realizes that it
Made a specific terpene profile more present Wich as a result made silver haze white widow enemy of the state and powerplant all taste the same
This took some time to scale back the recomended amounts PK 13/14
To return to original flavor
Would not be suprised some used nutrients have the same effect
