Is that a yes or a no?
Exactly - it’s just verified consultants 2.0
Not originally true, Organic didn’t imply quality before the label, it just meant the opposite of non organic.
But look at https://tilth.org/certification/
An independent, voluntary, “beyond organic”, certification program. Nobody audits their audit. Yet consumers regularly purchase one product rather than another similar one, because of that cert.
Who audits Tilth? Who audits those auditors? Who audits the auditors of those audits?
Again, you clearly don’t understand how independent certifications work.
Go ahead and sell un certified D8, nobody is forcing you to participate in GLGc.
Yes, maybe quality was the wrong word to use. But I think you know where I was going with my statement. I did edit that post to add a little more explanation.
Again, I’m not saying you are wrong and that people don’t look at their food or the labels put on their food but I think that the labels that are already out there have gotten to the point where they hold enough weight that people spend the time to get those labels.
I think GLGc has a lot of potential, I just think it’s going to require a lot of work and probably several years to get it to the point where it is universally recognized to mean something the same way organic means something. And until it gets to that point, it is difficult for someone like myself to spend time, money and resources into getting that certification when I can go and get other certifications that imply some level of quality on their own. That’s all I am trying to point out. I want to see this succeed but we also need to ask the hard questions to make sure the system gets built and implemented/accepted properly.
Any third party he hires. He sets the standards and has a third party audit the process. they report back to him and a cert is granted or failed.
Yea exactly lol how is that going to better then what’s available?
Absolutely. No disagreement there. This is why we started with the intro level free knowledge, to build a base of educated operators, as well as have a group of already well respected processors working with us to implement the certs in their own labs first
Because literally nothing is currently available. 4th time, you catching on yet?
There aren’t any standards being used
And the experiment where we just put all the verified consultants into a survivor type game show situation was not actually a good measure of competency unfortunately
Fwiw, I would consider 10% of a competing business to be a significant equity position. I thought you had a stake in rebel roots too?
So how Is your cert different then if I go get approved by a 3rd party audit ?
Had less than 1% rebel roots, but that dissolved when Chase left.
Who is the third party ?
Who audits the auditor of that 3rd party??
Who gives a shit about Jeds third party - the point of the GLG is that it is an association of industry leaders who are represented by the work they present to the community- the community likes what they see? The respect the contributions made in the open source format of the forum? Well the results speak got themselves.
How many insane hemp associations have been propped up by self obsessed “revolutionaries” who just wanna ride the political ladder by framing themselves as experts but in reality are just buffoons?
I can think of examples in nearly every state
Sorry I’m spitballing here and somewhat incoherent but you get the idea
We are just trying to help custies get cleaner products
There are 0 standards in the industry.
Look at the broad spec/full spec/isolate/“isolate” confusion in CBd for a perfect example.
He’ll look at D8 legality, it’s all the same root issue-
Until a group can come together and market and push its standards as the unifying handbook of all things hemp… I’d say that the GLG has a fighting shot at being able to do this
GLG vs The Tennessee Jed 3rd party auditor round one let’s go
I’d drop the “gang” affiliation though it’s not something most companies PR firms want to be explaining
Certainty an interesting idea.
I am a bit confused on what this certification truly hopes to achieve. Most certifications deal mainly in quality control systems but based on the introductory packet this certification seems to be more concerned with education.
While I see how education can play a role in quality of final product, I am not certain education will guarantee a better product as stated by the badge.
When I am looking at third party certifications I am looking to see that the company has an system in place that has been validated for decades that ensures the quality of the product is to specification. Additionally, I know the company will be audited to see if they have been following that system.
With this certification, I am only seeing that someone is book smart regarding the production of their final goods. While this is valuable, there is nothing guaranteeing that experience is being applied.
I guess I do not really like the idea of a test as a test only requires regurgitation of material and really shows no bearing on the state of a companies’ goods. I think there will need to be a lot more in the way of setting up quality systems and performing audits.
Again, I think I am early to the party and you may have a lot of this planned for the future, kudos. This is a serious endeavor and should not be taken lightly. If this does become a symbol of trust in the industry you better make sure there is a reason.
