Death certificates list causes of death in an order of how long they’ve been effecting you. Just because the first one is “Asphyxiation” doesn’t mean you get to ignore the next line that says “As a result or consequence of: Nitrous oxide abuse”

seems interchangable to me. the asyphyxiation part doesn’t really seem interchangeable to me.
for instance if someone died from autoerotic asphyxiation, it would be obtuse to imply that masturbation can cause death from asphyxiation.

BTW= i got my name thumper from passing out in the 80s. It was a shotgun hit and lack of oxygen and I made a thump sound when i fell. Not even nitrous- Ive seen so many bad injury at dead shows from big balloons and people walking.
