Any update on your progress?
For me it’s not working. I tried it twice with poor results. I seem to be a rarity because most all others have had success. How have your findings been @hwalker?
Just ordered W1. I’m going to put the media in a 4" CRC Kit – Quality Stainless Parts CRC column.
Perhaps you need to throttle through the W1 and not let it run so quickly? I’m not too sure but I’m new to CRC.

I’ve yet to put your media to action, (waiting on management) but I’m very excited.
Maybe you could help me out as well. I just ordered a CRC column from Killa (4" 5 Micron Sintered Filter Plate Basic CRC Kit – Quality Stainless Parts) and was wondering if I need to put any filter papers on top of the sintered disk.
Does the sintered disk require filter papers? (Noob question, thanks for the help).

Filter papers aren’t required but most like to add them. They will help keep the disk clean and add that extra filtration as well.

I would NEVER load powders on top my welded disk
good way to clog it straight up. stage filter papers above the disk , put powders on top the papers…make it travel through material, several papers staging down, then ur welded disk. if u get powders on ur disk it will clog it. I never let my disk see powders

also the depth filters work great to for prefitlers for the disk. way I see it the disk cost so much. keep it clean by having prefilters for it to properly do its job

Definitely put some a few filter stacks in above your sintered filter.
I use the sintered filter as a final resort to stopping media from sneaking into my collection.
My current set up is
Media
8um paper
5um paper
3um paper
1um sintered filter

Anyone else having poor results with the sample? I tried the crx and the cry and using 1000 grams total to my 1500 gram run and honestly not only is the color still bad but impossible to make shatter. I used same material and 400 grams of Best Value Vacs color bleach and the result was far better. Am I doing something wrong? I don’t use a nitro push I only opened my vales about 25% open and it still looked like it went to fast. On 1500 grams of material I ran 25lbs of nbutane.
I fucked up the first time with this media. You really have to go slow slow to make it work. How big of a crc are you working with? The smaller (skinnier)
the column the better this media will work.
Mines 4” fwiw
I’m just saying it would work better than a 6” with the serious exposure time the media needs to work. I’m not quite sold on the media yet. I do think people should try it and figure out how to make it work. Gives you a great deal of information on the relationship between pore size and residence time needed.

What temp are you running the solvent through the media at?
4inch crc, 1500 grams. I was running room temp butane. I’ve heard I need to do sub-critical bro. Ill try that.

Yes, we are finding that the solvent needs to be running below -10. When running warmer than -10 the media tends to swell and this leads to pores being enlarged that would normally not be present in the media. This then leads to some of the problems that some of the folks have been experiencing.
