First reported death due to CBD drug interactions, brace yourselves

my chiro was the team chiro for the olympic judo, gymnastics, and wrestling teams at the london olympics. he can fix any problem. my wife had a brain injury and he adjusted her skull (one of the few certified in skull adjustments. NOT cranio fakeral therapy) took her from not being able to tie her shoes and sleeping 20 hours a day to getting to the top of the climbing wall in 3 months. DM me if you need his info.

Okay, I couldn’t resist. This is some bs.

The majority of pharmaceuticals are metabolized by p450 enzymes.

Cannabinoids and P450 enzymes are directly related. P450 enzymes are involved plant synthesis of terpenes/cannabinoids, and some P450 metabolites are CB1/2 agonists. For that matter p450 has long been targeted to increase bioavailability of various compounds. As many have pointed out grapefruit inhibits p450, but piperine would possibly be a more potent example of one more commonly used in other formulation, with lesser known cannabimimetics (that similarly inhibit p450 enzymes).

The point being that CBD isn’t the first foodstuff to widely circulate with similar pharmacological properties. These are ancient systems. I don’t see how the argument can be made that a woman who had previously taken CBD suddenly has this reaction based on the CBD. The only way this argument holds water is if extremely high CBD levels (possibly coupled to a genetic p450 issue) caused severe inhibition. Two days of sublingual use isn’t likely to cut it in that regard. The fact that she had previous exposure without issue makes this even less likely, imo. Of course this also assumes that p450 enzymes in the body are static (which they’re not) and that exogenous cannabinoid exposure doesn’t module the expression of them (which they do).

I’m all for caution and I think we could spare more of it, but these guys are reaching and I’m calling bullshit.

agreed. There is something they are ignoring because connecting the death to CBD = getting published

Correct me if i’m wrong but the article itself said CBD was most likely not the issue. It’s just the media articles which are saying that.

From conclusion:

“We presented a case of a patient with CBD oil-induced SJS-TEN. Progression of ophthalmic involvement was prevented with cessation of the CBD oil product and initiation of an aggressive lubrication and topical anti-inflammatory regimen. It is unclear if marijuana-derived/CBD products can induce SJS-TEN. However, our case suggests an association. Further research and community surveillance is required to determine the risks of SJS-TEN from CBD products, especially given the severity and even potential fatality of this disease. Given the increased availability and use of commercial CBD products, clinicians should be aware of the possible association of CBD and SJS-TEN.”

It’s definitely weak sauce. SJS happens, there are warnings on tons of stuff. It is very infrequent and often never completely understood, in terms of what brought it about. Pretty much everything I take is metabolized by a P450 enzyme. Doesn’t seem justified trying to blame CBD.

Pharmacists exist to push Pharma cartel drugs. They can check all they want, unfortunately this doesn’t make poison any safer.

We recommended taking our oil 1 hour before/after any prescription drug, as they generally metabolize in the liver. We catered to patients with minor anxiety, all the way to nocturnal seizures/cancer. Not once had we ever had anything negative reported back except thinning blood/lower blood pressure, if it that can even be considered adverse… (btw thinned blood is also an immediate side effect of alcohol consumption) We even had some patients that took up to 23 “medications” at one time while using our oil, with zero issues. The compounds don’t interact once the body has absorbed them and CBD is an antioxidant/nueroprotectant (See US Patent 6,630,507). It is literally chemically impossible for it to “kill” anyone.

The list below is just a few items the FDA approves. It is naive, at best, to believe that their aim is to regulate anything with consumer safety as the priority.
Acrylamide.
Benzene.
Dioxins & PCBs.
Ethyl Carbamate (Urethane)
Furan.
Melamine.
Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)
Perchlorate.

Hey bro, check this out on a pharmacy magazine :v: There are enzymes cannabinoids affect, which can quicken or slow the metabolism of drugs in the liver. Specifically, a few drugs in the photo. Didn’t read what the killer is and if If I s in there

This makes me sad. Any article put up by media is going to demonize CBD in the headline to get attention and cause this misinformation train that we all have seen over and over. To me this is what playing the odds looks like. Millions of people taking CBD is eventually going to give us that rare statistic. Sadly this will likely be treated like the vape death craze end of last year. Brace yourselves and take her advice about the warning label.
