I’m currently filtering via nitrogen push - 4in triclamp with filter plates- I have loaded each filter with a whatman4 followed by 30g of celite 545 and another filter paper on top- this is so incredibly slow though and I was wondering if I am obviously using too much celite- how thick of a layer do you guys usually use?

No need for celite! What are you hoping to filter out?
All of the green sludge that gets caught by the celite
I recommend bag filters personally. You can filter gallons per minute of the sludgiest stuff around to any micron you want.

I get that flow rate easy with my bel art, idk if a sock filter would be able to handle the kind of winterizing I’m doing since I’m warm extracting with hexane and pulling atleast 20% fats and lipids by volume. This was room temp in methanol after degumming

Yup! I used to use it with warm extracted bho that was right up there with wax content. Sounds like you’re getting good results too.

Is the sock filter better in your opinion? Kinda want to try vacuum dynamics new filter setup but dont want to drop 5k on it if it’s not any better then my belart
You can buy the exact same piece of equipment on mcmaster-carr for like $1000

Just to be clear that’s for the housing, driven by air or vacuum. If you want his pump it looks like one from Grainger to me and I’m unsure on specific price.

- I’m filtering through a 5 micron sock now- empties the reactor nice n fast so I can happily continue soaking
Transferred the still quite murky filtrate to a cooler to keep temps down but filtration speed lacking

What filtration setup is that? I just ordered a 5000lm buchner funnel and a 10000ml flask. My old 3x 600ml and 2000ml setup was not cutting it.
Just hope the ole welch wobble can pull a good vac with the 5k/10k setup
Triclamp spools- filter plates with celite beds and whatman#4 papers - Alcatel 2021i is sucking on it- had to rig it up in place with zip ties cause my chain clamps aren’t here yet.
I’m gonna be converting my busted bottle filler into a larger Buchner when I have a minute

I love SS vs glass. Dhgate had a 10L SS upper and glass lower with vacuum and discharge port for 750. I didnt see that until after I order my glass from Deschem
Deschem has banned me from ordering anything from them ever again cause I called them on their bullshit sending me chipped nasty glass thimbles for my soxhlets- seriously screw them- SS f4ever
