I’m surprised you’re having that problem with the sock. Does it seem like you’re catching a lot? You could put a 0.5 micron cartridge after it, that ought to knock out any residual.
I’m gonna try to replace with a 1 micron and see what happens
Problem is with the 1 micron they’re so thick and fleecey they hold a lot of tinc
If you like the result of the filtration media you use, I suggest merely increasing surface area. I bumped my filtration from 4" to 6", and saw a dramatic difference. We use T5 bentonite and and thin layer of AC to the same effect. I would love to see it work at 8" or 10" though. Tri-clamps make everything so easy (and fun).
From the look of your setup, a few 4" to whatever size you want and you will have her running faster. Won’t have the surface area of a sock, but however you decide to go, know that bigger is better (at least when it comes to surface area of your filtration).
@square_root_pharms I saw you were talking to vacuum dynamics about his filter on IG, thought maybe you might find this useful as you can build it off mcmaster for cheap
thanks buddy, ya im in the process industry and i figured i could piece that setup together for under a grand.
the housings are a few hundred bucks and a stainless aodd pump could be had for probably 7 or 800 new
Get the same pump but stainless steel/ ptfe. Beaker and wrench uses the kynar version
It looks like a size 1 filter to me. I used size 2 (twice as large) and housing was about 1k.
