I have had epilepsy for the last 8 years after being involved in a hit and run accident while riding my motorbike.
I was prescribed Epilim ( for epilepsy ) and Oxycontin ( for pain and to completely fuck my life up )
I stopped taking the Epilim because of the way it made me feel psychologically and also because it was not stopping the seizures.
I continued to take the Oxycontin because i didn’t realise at the time i was addicted to opiates…
Anyway with the help of my mother and father we assembled a grow tent and produced about a kilo of nice weed. I then taught my mother ( 58 at the time lol ) to make BHO.
This BHO is what stopped my seizures and enabled me to quit the Oxycontin.
The police later that year busted the house and seized all the cannabis material but left all the grow equipment and gave me a warning ( i was still in a wheel chair with broken legs lol )
I then tried to get prescribed cannabis from my doctor, he would not entertain the thought. I went to an Epilepsy specialist to make the point that cannabis is controlling my Epilepsy where as tablets were not. He also would not entertain it on the basis cannabis is illegal in the UK, what im doing is against the law with no medical testing or background.
So i moved to Barcelona. I have been here 6 years, in those 6 years i have had maybe 2 seizures a year. Compared to having maybe 3/5 a month in the UK.
In my opinion Cannabis and BHO have changed my life from the point of my accident so i can function as a normal person.
Without it i would still be waking up on the floor after a seizure, covered in blood from me trying to chew my tongue off, looking for my Oxycontin, with my parents crying in the background …

I ordered my SPD kit from David yesterday ( its taken a LONG time to save up and have the confidence to buy it), once i learn how to use it i will give free medicine to anyone with epilepsy who needs it.
Medicinal cannabis should be available to EVERYONE !
( including children )

If you really have given out SPD kits for kids…

You sir are a very kind person indeed and if there is such a place as heaven, you deserve a place there …

What is a sod kit? Does it increase potency for rso?
Apologies if duh ?

SPD kit, stands for short path distillation. It does increase the potency of the oil significantly

Like from mid 60s to what? Jc

Mid 90’s if you know what you’re doing.

Can reduce it too if you try hard enough.

See: Chromatogram: 3% THC

Anyone talk to @chefrobert lately? Hope he’s doing well.

Wow. that was almost totally useless. I can see why folks think you’re a bot.

Cool science, but I know 5 year olds who can provide better sources for their info.

Have you heard about the new tool the physicists at cern built? It allows you to insert inline pointers to resources located elsewhere?

Becomes:

Stanford scientists and their collaborators have shown.

(Thanks for beating me to it @Franklin)

Maybe this will help

Epidiolex is only documented to work with dravet syndrome, a specific type of epilepsy

Links or it didn’t happen…

So GW got Epidiolex to market without clinical trials?!?

Where are you sourcing this knowledge you’re sharing?

Only anecdotal but a friend of our farm’s wife had seizures almost daily. He was given some distillate and his wife takes a toothpick sized dose two times per day.

Consistently now over the past year and a half she will not have any seizures if she takes her dose. If she misses a day, she seems to be much more prone to having them.

It’s not a clinical study nor is it really anything more than one single person exhibiting benefits to their health issues by directly consuming a full cannabinoid spectrum distillate (about 85% D9 and 95% TAC) but it is nonetheless a data point supporting it.
