I’d look for nanners (they look like little yellow bananas sticking out of the bud) and see if you can pinpoint the cause. If one plant was a herm then it could have pollinated your grow by itself and you’d be fine next time as long as you don’t grow that one again, but if you have light leaks or something that caused the whole grow to stress and herm then it’s going to come back again unless you can fix the problems.
A couple mature seeds aren’t that bad, it’s the premature ones you gotta worry about they like to hide and make everything taste like ass.
Any female can go hermie, and bag seeds are especially prone. Light leaks and getting rootbound in pots have done it for me.
The seeds might be worth keeping as a way to test new grow mix, lights, techniques, etc. You probably dont want to grow them all the way out though, as they will likely be prone to hermie.
I wouldn’t try breeding seeds bro, even with 20x more lights and space then you’re working with. Waste of time and space, especially considering that they came from a herm. Leave it to the large companies that can take a loss for a couple years while they develop strains.
A lot of these companies have the greenhouse space to grow 1000-10,000 seeds out before they choose their favorite phenos to back cross onto and stabilize. You can reap the benefits of their work, by just getting a clone that has already been pheno hunted.
Whatever plants got it the worst, break them up gently to remove the seeds. After you’ve removed the seeds, grind up the weed and make pre rolls. Get a bunch of doob tubes off DHgate/Alibaba and you’re all set. Pretty sure they’ll even have some with labels/packaging already.
Not a loss if you adapt and make it work. Weed will be a tiny bit less thc because it was working on developing seeds instead. Roast the seeds, throw them in some granola or on an açaí bowl. Do that and the pre rolls, and you won’t have wasted/lost anything
Edit- and learn a lesson from this. Likely let a light leak in to herm these. Do you have the little vent open on the side, with nothing to prevent light from leaking in?
And make sure to duct tape over any LEDs on your power strip, humidifier, fan, and anything else electronic in the tent. Those can cause hermies as well.
Depending on how much seed is in the buds, you might have to dry them more than you normally would for smoking. Heavily seeded bud is almost impossible to clean if it is still sticky.
To give you an idea, when growing for seed, the process is dry, crush, sieve/screen, and then repeat. I use a colander as a screen, just because it happens to work well. When I’m done, I have clean seeds and green dust, which makes very good bubble hash.
If you want unstable f1 herms from drloud, I’m sure he’s got some seeds for ya. Not saying it hasn’t been done before, just trying to give this guy practical advice for what to do with his current situation.
