Dog cancer

My condolences for your loss

Bumping this old thread. My brothers German shepherd has a lump they suspect may be cancer on her breast. X-ray of the lungs shows suspicious spots as well. They are sending X-ray to a radiologist who will be able to say with more certainly what it is but they say if it is cancerous in the X-ray there is no use removing the tumor on her breast as she won’t last more than 3 months.

She gets very anxious from THC so I’m thinking high dose cbd isolate may be the best bet. Not exactly expecting a miracle but it sure would be nice. Seems some people have some success stories that make it worth a try. Thinking of starting around 80 mg/day which is about 1 mg/lb. Any input or anecdotal experiences in the last 3 years since the last time this thread was active?

I’d suggest mother liquor.

Because: “entourage” ?!?

When throwing Hail Marys, one might as well throw more cannabinoids…

When trying to ease my dobies pain through bone cancer I found balanced thc : cbd rectally administered was the most effective. The suppository route allowed massive thc consumption without getting her debilitatingly stoned. Easiest method I found was to put a small bit of coconut oil on an rso syringe, insert and apply that way vs a shea/coconut suppository. She was taking couple grams a day towards the end. Although she ultimately lost the battle you could see a noticed improvement in her mood and movement after the treatments.

I used to make 80mg treats for my parents elderly black lab after she had a seizure. She was pretty overweight, I also weened her up to that dosage starting at 20mg and giving bigger doses and monitoring how she did. I think full spec to get most noids or isolate. Some dogs can have adverse reactions to thc that will cause them to have an accident or even have seizures, so I think it’s best to avoid anything that could stress them out if they are already sick.

my quick & easy recipe is I’d take a 1g syringe of melted isolate or distillate.

I’d buy a bag of Pupperoni, cut the stick into 10-12 bite size pieces and then use a toothpick or wood skewer to poke a hole through the pieces and then squirt 0.08 - 0.1 into the hole depending on what your using.

It’s quick and easy imo, I made her treats like that for 9months since she didn’t like the infused milkbones and everyone genuinely thought it was helping her, myself included.

I think no more then 80mg full spec and if you wanna give them more maybe try an isolate blends or just isolate.

I’ve made high potency blends of tinctures like this for humans with MS/anti inflammatory issues and surprisingly the full spec blends did absolutely nothing for them compared to the high dose cbd.

If anyone has advice on flavorings for MCT tinctures or similar for cats, I’m all ears.

I don’t think I’m dealing with cancer yet thankfully, but I have an older cat who needs some support for his appetite. I have CBD isolate, CBG isolate and plenty of CBD/CBDv/CBG flower for extractions, so I’ll play around a bit and update here with results.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Glad to see such strong positive results in many cases where traditional vets seemed to have given up.

Hairball medicine often comes in malt flavor. Cats seem to like malt. The hairball stuff is like flavored vaseline. I dont think it would hurt if you needed to combine it with cannabinoids.
