Thanks man!
It get pricey, but this stuff is so fun. It’s a challenge for my mind and forces me to think all the time and get out of my comfort zone with stuff.
It’s great, you guys are freaking awesome!

Money that was very well spent. Definitely some ever evolving self educating going on. Trial and error is a ruthless bitch but it’s the best way not to make the same mistake twice.
Ran water submerge to find leaks. Don’t forget to seal that sight glass up, something I neglected first build. Running pressure test at 95 psi. Working with what I have for testing pressures on specific parts. Any recommendations on where to pick up JIC female to NPT adapters at? Looked all over town, was sort of clueless to start. Looking to make gauge adapters off of ball valve compression fittings.
I’m not a huge fan of bvv, but when it comes to stainless fittings I find that without a picture I’m useless at trying to find what I actually need or want.
On a side note, looks like you torqued those tri clamps way to far down.
On some real shit though it truly is and it gets better the more you keep going. Just wait till you use the crc and get a hold of killa for upgrades.
I only started 2 years ago and now I’ve abandoned butane and i’m retrofitting my system to push ethanol with nitrogen like wtf!!! lmfao
HVAC supply store
Shops that sell cooling equipment and tools for this trade
Only made in brass probably they do not have stainless steel
I get all mine from ebay for a good price.
What fittings are you looking for?
Oh I’m already running a crc haha. I’ve been extracting since the we all were using turkey basters. Was doing open blast for years, then moved to cls about 2 years ago.
When I think of all those nasty ass dabs I smoked back in the day it makes me shudder lol.
was going to mention the clamps look a bit tight too.
OP, the clamps are pretty generous with tightening. I typically tighten them evenly by hand and then do 1-2 turns on each side until it starts screetching. Once it squeals like a pig I give it another 1-2 turns on each side and leave it at that.
You can damage the gasket if you over tighten, as well as the bolts and nuts.
The bolts and nuts on these clamps are designed as disposable items. You’ll need to replace them over time, more frequently if you over tighten them. You’ll probably see some nuts crack before a bolt gives way, so keep a few extras on hand in case one splits on you.
Damn I never was that ghetto with it. A coffee filter in the plastic honey bee open blast extractors was as crazy as I got.
I remember dudes using pvc too, we were using the basters because they were stainless steel.
This was back in 06 I’d say?
Trying to think of how long ago that was made me realize I’m old lol.
Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles & More | eBay?
Here’s a tee from the seller I use:
Check their other listings, they have a ton of fittings for a decent price.
I want to talk more about that. Been having a similar thought. Should be able to make some fire ethanol extracted oil through a closed loop. What are you retro fitting to do the job? Gaskets?
Any ideas on quality from going this route? I’d imagine with a jacketed tube and injection coils we should be able to maintain the -80c at a large scale
Yeah, I kinda overlooked that part, this is super interesting!
Please share if you don’t mind!
Duh, that was meant as a reply to @GroovyOctopusLabs and the ethanol extraction
I knew a guy who used to open blast with pvc tubes… when I called him out on it, his excuse was “well they use them for drinking water, so I don’t understand what the big deal is”.
Next smart thing I heard from him he was in a fight with his room mate about his dog shitting in the house. “At most I leave it for a day or two”
Stupid people are among us, beware!!
That’s pretty ghetto. Did that once too, those things suck
Eh, it’s only a day or two man, what’s the problem???
(being sarcastic btw haha)
Gotta go with abs plumbing pipe not Pvc
ABS is good for poop so it must be good for cold solvent too… solid logic
