DIY budget sieve

DIY budget sieve

3a Molecular sieve beads

1.5 x 8 material column

2 x 1.5 tri-clamp clover to 1/4 FNPT (I know the hemi ones should be used but like I said “budget”)

2 x 1.5 tri-clamp

2 x 1.5 150 mesh gasket

It’s a little small but…:man_shrugging:t4: It’s “budget”

I actually just use cartridges. For smaller systems like mine, it’s waaaay easier.

I’d say for any system 1# and under these are easier to deal with.

They last quite awhile, and you could always recharge em if you want

Also, from what I’ve read, the vessel holding the sieve beads needs to have a hemi cap or its not as effective I think.

I was just wondering this! I wasn’t sure if there would be an obvious change in performance between hemi lids, and not?

What do you consider as small system? @Curious_Roberto

1#, and less me thinks

1# or less I’d say

I have to find it, but I’ve seen this mentioned several times

These have copper in them…Is that ok?..

That’s all I use now, my 3a beads are all bagged up and are never used

Clicked the wrong link

I meant these ones

Those are all steel

Edit: I lied, but the copper is fine from my understanding, we could use brass. The issue is if you have moisture in your system and you don’t remove it, you can get some oxidation, but that’s not toxic.

I know people use copper scrubbies to clean Sulphur stink from solvents, so I’m I’m not concerned.

Bet…

Or you can talk to @Soxhlet. He makes disposable filters as well as their housings

Fyi, it looks like a few people use the driers. I’m about 90% sure they are fine to use

When you gonna do your first run in your new rig @kay420?

I’ve kinda been keeping an eye on your progress and would definitely like to know how it goes!

Word!

Just ordered 2 :heavy_check_mark:

As for my first run in the new rig
Soon
I’m waiting on some fittings to come in so I can run n2 assist on it. Just a little push. Maybe 10-20psi just to help the mix through multiple filter disks and media if/when using.

I’ll make sure to keep you updated boss @Curious_Roberto :call_me_hand:

Nice man!

For my 1.5 crc I need about 50psi to get a good stream through my crc.

The guys with the wider columns don’t need as much psi to push through the powders, but if you’re running a 1.5 crc, you’ll probably have to dial the psi up a bit.

If you have any questions at all about any of it, hit me up bro!
