~dirty mind~ adding Butane to ethanol

I know in the mid 90s there was a lotta hash oil. Not really sure how it was made but it resembles what alcohol crude looks like today.

Anyone that went to a dead show would say the same. It was always around.

Extract with butane.
Vac down the collection chamber
Inject methanol into collection chamber
Heat solution and cool for a few hours
Nitro push through alumina and sintered disk

Inject butane to mix with your winterized metoh
Prepare a conical pressure vessel with distilled water
Use pressure to slowly (dropwise?) push the solution into the conical pressure vessel with drain valve.
Drain water layer.
Add more butane if needed and push through a desiccant (alumina works)

Winterized butane extract

I’m not trying to invent anything. I was just asking questions. I wanted to know what was going on. It’s a head scratcher to me that a cold crash even happened to something like that because like I stated it wasn’t anything like a super saturation…

Did you pull the seed out to make sure it wasn’t ice?

Triple aaa Trippie…
that is actually an interesting approach…I also did a rather
detailed study of the Hexane/MeOH LLE a few years back.
Add 2-3% AcOH to that first Methanol step…for control over ionization

I’m not sure I would use alumina as a desiccant on the last step…

the water gets the meoh and acid out…leaving only R-COOH

What do u recommend for the desiccant?

Also, it should be noted that my initial butane extractions run through an acidic clay.

A classic would be specially dried MgSO4…

if the alumina works…just stick with it.

You could take you alumina from that step and wash it with
MeOH and 1% acetic…and see if any THCA can be recovered.
