If you (still) don’t understand why you got this result, and have successfully mined in jars, here is a hint:
Canning jars are designed to hold vacuum, not pressure. They work because they leak.
Consider imitating your CLS: set up a second (ideally chilled) vessel to “burp” into so you can recover the excess solvent from your miner(s).
I also suggest searching on “metastable” and “Ostwald ripening”…because what you attempted indicates you could use a better handle on the subject.
Digging into the materials given to school kids wouldn’t hurt.
